I agree that SA should be Evincar. I would suggest that restless be his scion if he wants it but obviously it is up to SA to decide. When this gets settled we can begin implementing the changes and picking the first set of praetors with real roles.
EDIT: also off topic due to schedule restraints I will need to switch to Magic online within the next year. Dose anyone on here play online? I have drafted online a few times back in Innistrad but I don't really know what I'm doing.
I still have some junk on there from the TSP/LOR era, but I could never justify keeping a collection on MTGO that was robust enough to test with as I was not giving up MTG offline. Loaded it up again to do some cube drafts though. Those are good times.

I would rather play paper magic since I just traded like hell to get a flooded strand. Problem in the great north woods of new hampshire their is literally three places to play. 1 dose only draft fnm, one is hardly ever open i seriously think he is going out of business or already has, and the third, while the best of the three and the one I consider my LGS is an hour drive one way. Driving back at 1am is kinda becoming a drag. And it sucks cause he is a really nice guy and I want to support him. He went so far as to invite all the regulars to his wedding. It was nice until they had the "goblin dance"(the store is named the Raging Goblin). about 15 of the nerdiest guys you will ever see, ranging form 19 to 50 something trying to do the YMCA. It was priceless.

Your shop sounds fun though I can sympathize with having to drive back late from a shop that is an hour away :/
I have a name and probably $100 or so in mtgo tickets/cards but it is just so hard to justify playing there for me. Rebuilding a collection from scratch is hard >_>

Ready for the apocalypses? The dark side is always open
Well since I assume the voting has started, I'll accept the nomination. Since I'm a candidate, I will abstain from voting and I will not set a deadline. That should be up to someone else, like tor or therestless.
At least Dark Confidant will be in Modern Masters though. Even if it's not going to be T2 legal, that'll be helpful.
Luckily I never got rid of my set.
So while this is going on, I am thinking I am going to play a Deck Wins. In retrospect, taking a break from standard was the stupidest thing I have ever done in my time playing Magic. I never knew how hard it was to jump back into standard. When I play competitive, I never play budget, but its like, now I kinda have to...its annoying....
As of now, this is almost identical to the list I am striving for....except no Bonfires. That and I am not sure about Vexing Devil yet. At least for now I'm going with what the other main RDW decks play: Stromkirk Noble simply because I have them and I am still not certain on the consistency of the Devil. Still planning on picking some up eventually though....
@ MTGO: I bought the original download. Does that count for anything? I never did anything and wasnt planning on doing much with it anymore. My friend tried it and so did I. We both fell out of favor with it. We play more paper anyways.
Well, I have never played standard, I went straight from casual formats to legacy and I am now trying Modern out. But is it even possible to play standard on a budget? Since I am tempted by FNM (I like those promos, but I don't own a single one), but I would hate spending too much on the format. (SA somehow made me want to try standard, since he said it was a stupid mistake to take a break from it)
From a complete budget perspective I wondered about the possibilities of a MBC deck, since I own Vampire Nighthawks and they are probably the only viable black cards in standard I got(maybe outside Duress). I think cards like Dead Weight and Murder aren't given enough credit for what they can do, also Mutilate is back in business (the only reason I even considered the idea).
So would a strategy like this even be viable to pursue at all? I am afraid I would just get run over by B/R-zombies, since it looks like they are very recursive .

You guys are seriously fighting over who runs a thread on the internet? This seems to happen every time I come to check in; it just makes it less appealing for potential recruits, doesn't it?
You guys need to sort it out. Nobody will die if you aren't the boss of a bunch of forum users.
Yeah we're extremely nerdy
Like feastofthedead said though, too much drama for my tastes. So we're doing this the way and imposing insane rules. Or is that :symwu:?
Votes in by Halloween for new(old) Evincar.
SA has my support.
I concur. Out of curosity, is anyone opposing SA in his bid for renewed power? LOLZ.
Who Needs Dark Confidant When You Have [Clan Mono-Black]? is a fine title.
At least Dark Confidant will be in Modern Masters though. Even if it's not going to be T2 legal, that'll be helpful.
I support that title. I got my playset of Dark confidant back when they were still $10 each. How much are they worth nowadays?
Don't think so. And I think most people I've seen in the past month have cast a vote.
Thoughts on this artwork for it?
Glad I never got rid of mine.
I got mine at less than 10 if I remember. And at the time, I was just getting into competetive magic and thought that was a lot. If you would have told me then what I spend now, it'd be...interesting.

Their really isn't a good way to play non competitively unless your fnm is all non competitive. A few of us are competitive up at the goblin and we just run over the casual players. We know who is competitive and who is not so the extra two cards from the tourney are given to players who just play for fun. And for standard if you want to have good cards you better be lucky and pull them or have a lot of money cause it will get expensive. I'm willing to spend alot of money on cards for legacy and modern but when cards get up to $50 in standard and you know they will suck when they rotate, thats when I just throw up my hands and walk away.

Well, the meta at my LGS in any format is highly competitive (there even is a non-proxy vintage tournament every second month or so), so it seems like budget standard is not an option, well, I might try it anyway if I think I manage to conjure up a good budget list, but I will put the project on hold for now.

It was good to go through and check what the lists were. There were a number of changes I thought I had made but had not.
Funny enough, I had just started that project for myself last night. I only got through one though...that and I don't mark what they are if they are foil or whatnot because for me, it doesn't matter.
you my new beauty for EDH, since its been too long since I posted some EDH here! My old UB general was Oona, Queen of the Fae, but she was WAY too slow to make a decent 1v1 control deck, so I changed it up a littlelot:
Now aside from getting things like Force of Will, which I probably wont do for a long while, the only thing that is missing is Necropotence, and that is because my Nath of the Gilt-Leaf deck needed it more and I am a couple short of having enough. Believe me, that will change soon. Probably going to replace something like Wayfaerers Bauble or something like that. And as always, I still can never decide if I like Mystic Remora or Rhystic Study. Half the time, when I have one, I want the other. Then I switch it out, and I want the other back...
So, what do you guys think?
I just want to note that this was almost identical to my most recent Oona list (which I hadn't posted here), but switching to a flashy, uber evasive Commander has made the deck 100% better. Flash helps leave counter mana open. The big thing I have noticed is that her ability to bounce herself makes her a huge distraction. At least the people I have faced tended to focus way too much on trying to pin her down so that a Wrexial or something else can get them down real low before they realize it. She's just awesome.

That's for my own benefit. As someone who does like to upgrade everything, keeping lists like that really helps me keep track of what I still need. What kind of sucks now is prioritizing the cube against my EDH decks... My priority EDH decks are Hazezon, Wanderer, Rasputin, and Geth (Linvala and Kaervek being completed projects). So the cube is not going to come in ahead of those, but Sakashima is probably getting its Treachery (and possibly Brainstorm) downgraded. It's kind of crazy how much I've got in that deck considering it's never been a priority for upgrades.

I'm the same way in that I prioritize EDH over other things sometimes. My Modern and Legacy decks have proxies right now because I play a ton more EDH than those formats, so its easier to keep my cards in their EDH decks. Standard will be next for when I'm not at FNMs.
I keep my lists up and running because there are constant changes going on to them. That, and of the 18 listed in my sig, only Wydwyn is close to being completed to the point where I'm done optimizing her (she's one Necropotence away). All my other decks are good and very powerful, but still off from being, by my definition "perfect", even if only by a few cards, like Rafiq, Animar, Nath (potentially swtiching to Skullbriar, the Walking Grave due to its power post Deathcloud) and Bruna. Some are still very off, like Mr. Mime, Ruhan of the Fomori, and Kaalia., because they just got built as a rough draft. Then there are some like Karrthus that I love the general, but the idea is going to be getting a revamp.
I alway pull cards out of my EDH decks whenever I play Legacy. These lists help a lot with that as well.
Isn't Nath the perfect card to have around for Deathcloud?
All my EDH decks are pretty well optimized for what they're designed to do. Have not made any major changes to them in a while. As much as it is very rewarding, as a collector, to get cool foils and FBB cards, I kind of miss deckbuilding problems like "I don't have another Necropotence. I should probably get one."

Sounds familiar here. Did you know if I get shocks for every deck I play in EDH, I will have more than a set of each?
[
Isn't Nath the perfect card to have around for Deathcloud?
Yeah, probably. I've been experimenting with the idea of having a Skullbriar hit the board with some counters already on him to end the game swiftly. Some of my decks have an "Alternate Commander" that can play the same deck (like Teysa and Vish Kal). Skullbriar and Nath will fit the same bill. Keeps it different for me too.

Yeah, I wish I didn't have that problem
And therestless raised a good point. Is there anyone opposing my bid for power? That, and most of the active members have voted already. Those who haven't are probably the ones getting demoted due to inactivity anyways. therestless mentioned to me via PM that I should go ahead and create the new thread now? Any objections to this? I am more than willing to wait until the 31st if the clan decides. I'm just attempting to save some time.
@SA Well you can restart the thread if you want, I haven't voted yet, because I would wait and see if anything changed, but since nobody really wants to question you being in charge, you can have my vote as well, because it seems that when nobody objects, it is usually a good thing.

The question is should the thread be started by the evincar or the librarian? I feel that the things in the first post are mostly things that the librarian would be dealing with on the wiki so it makes just as much sense to have them do it that way they can just update both when they need it. I realize that it has always been the position of the evincar to open the new thread but It seems to me as more of a keeper kinda role where as the evincar should spend his time dealing with new things instead of worrying about the history and users.
But if you have normal versions and you aren't worried about getting the foil versions, how would you ever occupy your time?!
