Apparently there is a problem with the Clan Contest, and they want our input.
As scored, we get second place. Apparently, though, there's talk that the judging guidelines were not clear. You can read about this in the clan contest thread. If you understand it, and have an issue with it (it would give us the first place, but no change in standing for Clan of the Year) feel free to say something here. If enough people are concerned, I'll let the council know we want the win.
My default stance is to let the judge adjudicate as he already chose, and call it a close second and be done with it. Any input would be appreciated

I've had tons of close seconds this year and I can say its not a big deal. We did well but if one team deserved to win then that's it. If the judging guidelines and error were egregious enough to change who the judge would vote for, then change it, otherwise I would say don't worry about it.
Di you know I tend to go a lot to the Card Creation forums? There's some nice game happening there now, called "The Battle Factory". If you would like to join to exploit your creation capabilities, you are welcome!
By the way, we should probably make a final decision on how to vote on the contest predicament, if only so we can quicken the process of getting on with the 2012 contests.
If the mascot contest goes ahead I will tinker with some ideas if you guys want.
I'm thinking we've had enough mentions of keeping the results as determined by the judge to make that our final vote. If there are any loud objections, speak now or forever hold your peace.
In another new, what do you think of the amazing new Sorin? I think he's awesome: just pop lifelink creatures and then go for the ultimate!
I'm much less excited about his ultimate than I am about his repeatable Anthem effect. +1/0 with nothing to target to get rid of it? And you can chain him?
Turn he's played: Cast, make a Vamp -- Sorin 4 counters.
Next turn: Untap, +1/0, swing for 2 (at least) -- Sorin 2 counters
Next turn: Untap, +1/0, Sorin Dies.
Play another Sorin, +1/0, swing for 4 (at least) -- Sorin 2 counters

So, GP Austin was cool. I learned a lot about becoming a better judge, and the judge foils and 2 booster boxes were nice
I've always thought about becoming a judge many times, but each time it's slipped through the cracks for whatever reason. It's one of the things I actually hope to concentrate on at last when I graduate this summer. Gotta focus on school at the moment.
Speaking of GPs, there is a decent chance I'll be going to GP Seattle this March. Only thing holding me back is getting some more money...
Bristol Uni said my offer was unsuccessful, now they've sent an email saying it was a processing error and that they're still considering my application. Gah. Still, the other four I applied to have given me offers, so I'm not too worried about it.
I don't know Ghave well, but I've seen some sick things for my girl's b/g Sister's deck. Thinking we're gonna include the Gravepact + sac' outlet combo. These guys might make the cut

I'll follow MirrorEntity steps: Clan Izzet was a great experience, but I feel much more identified with a clan focused on custom cards. Of course, I would like to remain a friend of you, if that's possible.
I am sick of those people who claimed Sorin was on the 'evidence' of a faked card and an enemy-colour dual land cycle quoting my post refuting them while sticking their tongues out, mooning me and screaming 'I told you so!' Besides that, I'm pumped for DKA.
Start by learning the rules up, down, and sideways, and take the rules adviser test. The rules adviser test isn't mandatory, but passing it means that you have the rules knowledge to become a judge. Then contact an L2 judge that's local to you, and talk to him/her about judging an event as a judge candidate.

Sorry I haven't been around much recently. I don't have internet at my new apartment (which I'm almost fully moved into now, yay!) which is why I've been out of the loop for a while. Hopefully I'll have it this Wedsday.
I'm at the "LGS" now about to play EDH so I don't have a lot of time right now, just wanted to check in.
The money is going to be an issue for me. I still have a few months, but considering I'm going to Death Valley this coming spring, I'm gonna be tight for cash. Really tight.
