Hey, do any of you, my fellow clansmen, have a spare Niv-Mizzet for trade? I've converted my brother away from the barbaric, ocult Rakdos into the brilliant, unpredictable ways of the Izzet, and now he needs one for his EDH deck. I've only got mine, and I don't know any locals who have a spare.
I just realized from your trade thread that your Canadian? What part?
hey people, i would love to join your clan. Izzet has always been my fav combination. my first "real" deck was the izzet guildmage lava spike kill. {it was awesome}. anyways im pretty new to the site and im looking forward to shootin the ☺☺☺☺ with some people who live the same kinda "burn " that i do
So the degree in Theology came first while I was taking religion and faith very seriously. Then I realized a bit later that yes, my instincts were correct. Religion is entirely a sham, magic is myth and miracles are created by the rumors of the ignorant. It's more than a coincidence, though - taking religion seriously made me examine and understand it to the point where I could confidently dismiss it.
It's actually quite common for Atheists to have a good knowledge of Theology. The turn of phrase is typically cast as "if you want to become an Atheist, all you have to do is read the Bible."
That's an interesting point of view. Since this topic has a history of being sticky subject in these parts, I'll just state that I've been exploring Christianity recently, and leave it at that.
Here's my guess on Innistrad... instead of Innistrad being the return to Ravnica, like many speculate, as we'll be fetch-less post rotation, I believe that we'll go back to a Tribal-block and get so-orientated duals (i.e. Gilt-Leaf Palace style)
I hope not. That was kind of a lazy design IMO, when the lands could have had cool and unique secondary abilities instead of all being cookie-cutter copies of one another.
Has anyone been hit by the westerly blizzard yet? It just arrived here (Minnesota, USA) this afternoon, supposedly it's going to be pretty powerful.
I live in central Michigan, and it's been coming down since yesterday (and still is). It's days like these that I'm glad I don't drive, although I missed my bus stop coming home from class yesterday and had to wait in the sleet for the bus to come back around the other way.

Welcome! I'll add you to the Test Subject pool, and if you don't become literally brain dead (which is a surprisingly common phenomenon among Test Subjects), you'll be promoted in no time at all.

Good luck with the snow, be safe and such. We're almost a balmy 55 here. Wind storms went by about a week back and tore up the flora/hillsides. So looking forward to everything warming up.
PTQ locally this weekend, playing GW Trap, should be fun. My only problem being finding non-foil Emrakul so I don't get some sort of marked card infraction. Traded three of the four I opened/drafted away for good things, thinking my promo's would be fine for casual.

Work has decided to keep me playing any magic at all lately. Look forward to my new shift in the coming week so I can do a little magic. That and the paid two week vacation in my future April first bring it on!
i play edh at a local shop. they give out prizes to anyone who kills someone. two packs per head. anyways, the last time i was there, it was a 9 player game. i was playing my thraxamundar deck with multiple combos in it. after a very long game (probably 4 hours) i drew a warp world. played it for 20. (revealed the top 20) went something like lands, niv mizzet, temple bell, mind over matter, and some other random stuff. talk about awesome. nothing like winning instantly off of a warp world!
Wait, I know rain though. We get that all the time in Oregon, ESPECIALLY this time of year.
So yeah. My spring break looked like it was going to start out well, but it quickly turned pretty ugly when I left to visit my family for the break. I rear-ended a lady on I-5 since she was going like 25 mph for what reason I still have yet to know, and I couldn't break in time since it was of course raining like crazy. Dealing with the insurance companies, the DMV, and all that good stuff has been a nightmare the past few days for a moderate wreck (my car didn't need to get towed, thank god for that). Don't worry, I'm just fine and nobody got hurt at all. I still have to finish a letter to the judge since my court date is in another city like 40 minutes from my university during my class, so I can't go there as a result but I still want my ticket reduced considering I have a totally clean record. I can't afford to pay a $300 ticket for "Following too Closely" ;_;
I received my order for 1 Underground Sea, 1 Tropical Island, and 1 Savannah yesterday. Now my Revised dual land collection is at 27/40. Hopefully I'll be able to complete it by the end of the year.

That's pretty awesome Joe. I've wanted to do the same thing but god Damn it takes a chunk out of my wallet. I have several but they get played in my edh decks cuz that's how I roll. I really want to pick of this gem a buddy of mine has been trying to sell within the group. He has an unlimited black lotus and he put a 900.00 price tag on it. I want to shuffle it just to make the newbs at the shop freak out.
Knights vs Dragons looks like absolute garbage. Nothing in this set is even worth much. The thing that's worth the most is Thunder Dragon or Knight of the Reliquary. Thats pretty sad.

Innistrad looks cool, though.
I concur, as they didn't even include Hunted Dragon! What fun is that? Plus the KotR isn't going to be worth a ton as there will be plenty of them printed, and the fact that the rest of the box isn't stellar means they will be available on the cheap. I'm curious which art of Thunder Dragon they will use since they have the From the Vault: Dragons version to choose as well (also a foil, more EDH bling than the KvD version).
Innistrad makes me happy. I'm not an emo kid, but I do love me a good horror story or 19th century gothic novel. My two favorite characters in gaming fiction are Strahd von Zarovich from the Ravenloft DnD setting and The Gaunt Man from an old Gurps/Rifts-style game called "Torg." Cheesy goodness, with a Cthulu-esque origin story. Occult fiction done well is fantastic.
I really hope they explore the newly reborn gremlin creature type, as well as other gothic staples like wolves, bats, ghosts, etc. We shall see.... MuahahahahahahahahahhaaaHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAaaaaa

@Lucknorris - KvD looks pretty awful for sure. Bad art is part of premium precons ( i refuse to cube with cartoon jace) but not running hunted dragon is a huge and stupid mistake.

I here you, but there are some good arts in the precons. The Urza's Rage art in Phyreixa vs. The Coalition is superb, Lord of the Pit in Angelic vs. Demonic was great too, as was Liliana Vess is Garruk vs. Liliana. I know there are some stinkers though.
KvD had so much potential, but they went to wrong way with it. Bogardan Hellkite as the flagship dragon? Really? It's a 2.00 Mythic in M10 that barely sees play. They could have chose Dragon Tyrant or Zodiac Dragon would have been way better.

No! Don't touch that cookie. I've been... experimenting....
I haven't been playing much EDH, or Magic, at all lately unfortunately.

Definitely looking forward to Innistrad though, a return to Ravnica would be sweet, but even if it isn't, i'm sure it'll still be a good set.
