Enrolled fully in tafe today, $1700 fee ;_; I'll be eating light for a few months, but it's an investment in the future, I better be good at programming.
ninjeds: I have no problem with ambolaq, I mean, he has been more active than some of the current members (me included), I would say yes to him.
Like I said, I haven't had much to post about recently, and I don't want to post just for the sake of posting.
However I'm currently in a situation where I'm fooling around with two women with two more potential ones on the side. I've never felt so lucky. Two of them are good friends so I'm trying to be cautious during all of this. If I end up on the Maury show, I'll let you all know.
I say make him wait longer. I wasn't really a fan of the way we let the last member enter, especially after I sat around with a long wait and kept quiet the whole time (which Amloq has, so ++ to him).
However, I'd still personally like to see him around in this thread a little more first.
I'd also appreciate Talore, if you refrained from bringing up how we need to vote on a new member at all for the forseeable future. It was bad enough when you were doing it every page for yourself, so let's not start that again.

I agree 100 percent. I like the Bastard, I'll probably vote yes for him unless we find out the women he's been fooling around with are 12, or something. However, we have been rushing our votes just to get more people in here. It'd be nice to actually go at it at a leisurely pace. I remember, at one time, voting on new members started at the beginning of the thread, and it took the entire thread to get the required votes. This time was after having to wait for longer than just a moth or two.
I still think that a good policy to install would be to designate a certain period of time as a "Probationary Period" after someone gets voted in. At the end of this time, anyone can call a vote to boot him/her. It would also only require majority to boot, rather than the normal 75 percent. Once they get through the probationary period, and they aren't voted out after all, then they would need the 75 percent to boot. There needs to be something in the rules in case we make another mistake; we have to be able to rectify it.
There's a difference between keeping it real and trolling.

There's also a difference between doing the right thing and talking to him about the issue in private or reporting the post and being done with it, and what you just did, which is backseat moderating.
It's hard to find sympathy, or a drive for moderator intervention, for you when you break the rules in the process. I'd suggest, for the both of you, if you wish to continue that conversation, to do so in a more respectful and forum appropriate manner.
Now, ignoring that, I will be out of time for the majority of this weekend. Kristen's grandfather passed away this week, and we have to travel for the funeral.
On a lighter note, my path to collegiate success is off to a great start, as I've completed my summer courses and only managed to miss sixty-four points between of all of my classes. I actually forgot how much fun getting an education can be.
ria - Dude! I bet you all are excited. ..And O has no idea what is fixing to happen.
Actually, he knows what's up. He's been getting all the books from the Library ("What's In Your Tummy, Mummy?" et al) & he seeks out the babies at school, practicing to be a 'big brother' to his 'boucious babe' (his pet name for the new one).
That's for the IT course? How many classes/how long 'til you get a certificate?
Yeah the IT Course + the access and integration subjects I picked up came to 1700, I didn't think it would be that expensive, but at leat I can pay by installments :>
14 Including tutorials, I have to do it for a whole semester to get cert IV before moving onto a higher certificate (hopefully) it depends on how well I do whether I re do cert IV, I already have some partial programming experience so I should be moving on at the end of the year.
yuks: Sorry about the wifes Grandfather, hope you guys are coping with it.
t'lo: yeah having a woe is me attitude about what these guys are saying isn't the way to go about it, we are not weak willed in the called and leaving because someone told you to stop bringing something up is a bit soft.
S_P: can't say that I disagree with what you are proposing, though I think it should stay at 75%, if the majority doesn't want it then I don't see why lowering it makes any difference.
AmboLaq: your current posting is good enough for me
@JJ, I'm not going to fight you on your desire to leave, as I don't really like the thought of someone jumping ship when they feel that the waters are rough. However, I still consider you a bro, and I hope you one day return to us. Do you have my AIM handle? If not, send me a PM, and I'd be happy to give it to you.
Thanks for the condolences guys, but they're not entirely necessary. Her grandfather wasn't the greatest guy, and he had lived for a very long time. Those two factors together tend to take the blow out of someone's passing. Still, it's difficult staying strong when you're around people that you care about that are suffering, so I appreciate the well wishes. Gave me a smile when I got home earlier this week.
So, my latest endeavor is to learn some about the auto-industry and how to fix cars. Currently, I think Kristen knows her way around an engine better than I do, and I'm hoping to get some guy points back by making that a thing of the past. My dad's practically losing his mind with giddy over this decision. He's also offered to teach me how to drive a stick shift, and I am very much looking forward to driving some of his dad's old cars.
According to Kristen, with this endeavor, I am finally earning my *****. Isn't she just so lovely?
Bored...going to hike to the top of Idaho. If I'm not back in three days avenge my death.
Cheers,
Daggertooth

And I guess that I'm a lucky one for the truth of what I know. For my heart had not denied me and I have somewhere to go. I shall never be a prisoner of steel and glass and stone. If I leave, I will return again to my Rocky Mountain home.
Well Mt Borah is the tallest point in Idaho. At 12,668ft it is not the highest mountain I've ever attempted, but probably the highest in latitude. The mountain is located in the lost river range and is dubbed a great day hike... To the point of being a tourist mountain complete with loads of people hiking, a very full campsite, and an over crouded parking lot. They say to be smart to start hiking as early as possible as the average hiker can take upwards of 12 hours. Early hiking also avoids late lightning showers that often accompanies hikes this late in the summer. So much so that some of the people I met coming down the mountain had started hiking at 4am. I started hiking close to 2PM.
The hike is only 3.5 miles one way, but an elevation gain of 5000ft makes for some quick steep slopes. A late thunderstorm caught me below the treeline so I huddled under a tree to wait out the rain and hail. That blew by and I moved beyond the treeline and the more than 2000ft elevation climb that still lay ahead. There were only a few stragglers left coming down and they all recommended I turn around. Another wave of thunderstorms was coming and I there was no way I would make it down before dark. Some looked at me, dressed in my cotton long sleeve shirt and cotton jeans, and found me lacking. I'm not sure if they thought I lacked experience or that not funding myself with light weight clothes equaled incompitent, but at least one seemed to be a bit snooty when he strongly recommended I reconsider the mountain. After all, a guy who had been wearing cotton like myself nearly had hypothermia when that storm caught him. To be fair I would have recommended against hiking to most people myself. But I tend to be stubborn and foolish anyway. Besides, this ain't my first rodeo.
So I continued alone to a point called chicken out ridge, a rather steep climb up a ridge with sheer drops off both sides and ending in a thin walkway of snow with death on both sides. Well maybe not death as one person slipped and went down a few hundred feet of snow before rolling on a bit on jagged rocks. He was an elderly man and greatful to be alive. Also one of the last groups I encountered on my way up. At this point I was completely alone.
The storm I was worried about moved farther north than I was so I moved towards the top of the mountain. The last bit was a dramatic class 3 scramble that rose 800 feet. Probably the funnest part really. The peak had great views all around especially to mountains in the south east. I meditated and ate dinner before a light shower in the distance snuck up on me and I hurried my way back. I got to the top of chicken out ridge before the shower hit me. I hid beneith a rock overhang as I waited it out. I should have hiked through it as it was just light rain, but figured I didn't want to get too wet. When It blew past I turned and found a strong dark thundercloud heading my way...and the tree line still an hour hike downhill. To make matters worse my right knee started aching which significantly slowed me down.
The Thundercloud caught me at the base of chicken out ridge with still a half hour to go before tree line. Lightning struck and I counted the seconds...1..2..3...4...krakaboom at 10. About two miles out. I found shelter next to a rock that hid me enough from the rain as long as the wind blew. The lightning got within 3 seconds away, less than a mile, as it came over me. And the wind died down a few times soaking me.
I paid careful attention to my body temperature and how wet I was as I lay there. The chill wind and the inactivity of rest meant that my body temperature could get dangerously low. Activity could warm me up, but not with the thunderstorm overhead and me the tallest object for a bit. It looked like a decision between lighting threats or hypothermia. Still I rested there as long as I considered safe and as the thunderstorm moved out and turned into a lighter drizzle I felt it safe enough to go for the tree line.
The drizzle didn't stop for the next hour or so. By the time I hit the tree line the sun had set and I was soaked through. The clouds broke a little shortly after and I was slightly worried that I could once again be under risk of hypothermia, but it was a warmer night. Nothing like my hikes in the Tennessee winter. So I simply hobbled on, leaning heavily on my hiking stick to make it the rest of the way down.
Made it back to my car close to 10PM. About an 8 hour hike. Overall a great hike, relatively uneventful, and highly recommended for anyone here.
Cheers,
Daggertooth

Currently, I think Kristen knows her way around an engine better than I do, and I'm hoping to get some guy points back by making that a thing of the past. My dad's practically losing his mind with giddy over this decision. He's also offered to teach me how to drive a stick shift, and I am very much looking forward to driving some of his dad's old cars.
According to Kristen, with this endeavor, I am finally earning my *****. Isn't she just so lovely?
Sad to see JJ go.
Oregon was frustrating...cows eating my data...
Bored...going to hike to the top of Idaho. If I'm not back in three days avenge my death.
