Nice to see a couple of new faces in here as well as familiar ones. Welcome to you all.
Also congrats on your job findings omna. Seems like your going on the right track which is fantastic.
As for my top 20 animes I don't really have a list since I haven't really seen that much anime in my life time. However I did like seeing Ikki Tousen that was pretty cool I own the first two DVDs of the series.
Anyway I am probably going to get some sleep here soon. I have the next two days off from work which is awesome. Have a goodnight/day everyone and take care. See you all later.
I put D.N.Angel high on a list and all hell breaks loose.
But no, the reason I love it so much is for several reasons:
*The scenery and feel for the town is amazing as it is European in style
*The use of art as a plot point
*Daisuke is awkward in the right ways (it is a very natural awkward)
*Wiz (Yes Wiz gets his entire own subpoint)
*I love cute romances (It is probably my greatest literary weakness)
*How finally tuned and seamlessly combined the magical and the normal are
*The beautiful art
*The amazing character development (Probably some of the best I've ever seen)
*And a whole lot more that I am not going to list for space reasons
Finally I always thought D.N.Angel was more of a Shoujo than a Shounen, as I classify it as a romance manga, but eh that's just me.
Another DNAngel fan :D. Yeah i like DNAngel as well for own my own reason (Being it was the first manga i ever read :P) but yeah my list is a bit more generic when it comes to Anime/Manga
1. Evangilon
2. Cowboy Bebop
3. .Hack//Sign
4. Azu-Manga-Daioh
5. Blood+
6. Full Metal Alchemist
7. Shakugun no Shana
8. D-Gray Man
9. FLCL
10. Miyuzaki Films (Pono on a cliff, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away etc)
11. Wolf's Rain
12. Lucky Star
13. Melancholy of Haruhi
14. Code Geass (R1, and R2)
15. Claymore
16. Gunslinger Girl
17. Hayate The Combat Butler
18. Black Cat
19. Gundam Wing
And the list goes on and on this is excluding manga only titles and such but it general what i have wacthed and enjoyed over my years of being an otaku.
Things im currently wacthing are Soul eater (Great stuff here), Gundam 00, Lucky Star (2nd time :P), Code Geass R2, Claymore, and .Hack//Roots.
Looking at that list, I'm glad I don't have Evangelion or Full Metal Alchemist. Those are... overhyped to me.
Nah, Naruto is overhyped. Bleach is overhyped. Evangelion... definitely overhyped. Haruhi is overhyped a little. FMA is... actually quite good. It's got depth and deals with issues which are relevant to the scientific community today (the whole "march of science" vs. knowing when to stop thing, morality in science, etc), which makes it more intriguing in a lot of ways than some of the other things that are out there. It stops at a decent point and, with the movie, actually ends, too.
I'll give you that, Mr. Stuff. But when you go to a convention and see a girl dressed up as Edward with dog ears, a tail, a leash, and is attached to a cardboard dog house, you tend to get scared off.
I actually used to be into the show when it aired on Cartoon Network. Then they were so inconsistent with their scheduling (read: schizophrenic) that I missed out on the last season and it got really.... really.... strange and hard to follow.
Ah the anime discussion. It comes up about once every 4-5 months. And like clockwork, I still have not gotten into anime enough to contribute to the discussion...

This post is truth.
I think my list goes...
- Haruhi
- Chaos; Head
- FMA
- Gundam Wing + Gundam Seed
- Rurouni Kenshin

Agreed.
Although I'm learning Japanese, I haven't watched much anime (outside of the mandatory Naruto, DBZ, and Death Note). I know, it's practically a crime, but there you are.
And by the way, when I say that I can speak a little Japanese, I mean I'm finishing up my first semester of it right now. lol Although I did understand all of what y'all typed up for me.... awesomesauce.
On the other hand, I've been studying Spanish for five years. I can't believe I actually used "el" there, that's such an immature mistake!! brb I must fix it right now....
Had to take my cat to the vet, apparently his kidneys are sl. worse than I thought. We'll see, we got some lab tests back but I don't know what they are I have to call the vet back Monday morning.

Oh dear. I hope your cats are alright, Starr. IIRC, this started due to that bad pet food deal, way back when? We'll keep our fingers crossed for ya.

So sorry to hear that! If I were still a Christian I'd pray for y'all, but at least you have my thoughts!
Good luck Starr!! Your kitties were sweet, they don't deserve that much pain......
And yeah, Evan, its the same thing for me... I don't particularly have interest in anime enough to say what my top 10, or even 5, list is... I do like Read or Die... and Mushi-Shi was good... I don't remember much else.. Oh and Fate Stay Night was good too... I have a bunch on my computer but I haven't done much with them in a while..
Persona 3 has been sucking up a lot of my time lately and I'm really enjoying it.. today Brad and I were supposed to spend some quality time together but his brother called him and said he needed the car, so he had to go let him use the car for a bit.. But he'll be back when he can, so yeah, for me.. most likely hanging around and reading and playing more Persona 3 until he gets back lol...
@Snoopdoggatog: You have my thoughts. Best wishes.
I really want to learn Japanese, but my school only has spanish, french, german (which I am a part of, and which has been ended), and latin. Hope for college?
Can someone explain to me the Naruto hype? I don't see why it's so popular...
Well, I mean, I don't think Naruto is terrible, per se, but it definitely doesn't live up to expectation. I guess it just has a really dedicated fan-base. :/
well the game is all about summoning your alternate persona, which help you in battle.. they're kind of like a spirit that helps you out when you call them.. and the way you call them is by pointing a gun-shaped device (called an "evoker") at your head and pulling the trigger.....
EDIT: and yes, Allin, the game is very good I am enjoying it quite a bit

No, Naruto is terrible.
The storyline isn't even about the character it's named after, it's about a side character (how screwed up is that?)
It's stupidly over-hyped, and written very poorly. I pity the fans (who aren't me).
I had actually begun to play Persona 3 a year back or so, I was just never able to get into it. I just don't have the patience to play long slowly paced games like Persona 3, but I did really like the way it was done, the parts that I played.
I agree with the statement, FMA is definitely one of the better overhyped anime as it not only pertains to the modern world, but does so with a good plot, interesting characters, interesting abilities, and without power creep. But then again, for shows like DBZ, Yuyu Hakusho, Naruto, and Bleach the very reason I like those shows is because of the power creep, and well to see what new and different abilities are gained or shown to have. I love abilities. Yes I am weird like that. At least I didn't like Ninja Scroll for the plot...
Finally @Alacar: You haven't seen anything until you've seen 5 400-500 lbs. guys dress up as the Sailor Scouts, short skirts and all.
Also congrats on your job findings omna. Seems like your going on the right track which is fantastic.
