Undoubtedly. Prior to asking the Entertainment forum at large, you're invariably my go-to guy for guitar info.
Lol, I figured you'd say that. No less than three other friends said the exact same thing.
I really shouldn't have. My plan to wait six weeks was so that I wouldn't put myself in a rather tense financial situation. Which I now, unfortunately, am.
I know, right? My sexy stock went up at least 10 points. Probably another 50 once I can play.
I assume he put on pants and people stopped watching.
... dammit, now I'm curious.

Evidently, Dar killed Balcifer and freed his family from their cursed animal forms and joined them in the clouds at the end of the third season. But a year later, the first episode of the fourth season aired but that season never continued.
Awesome fact: the amazing Juno from The Descent was in this show playing Dar's lost love.
That sucks that the fourth season was a no go. He's got some good pics on IMDB.com for sure.
I had to look up The Descent. I'm sorry I did.
Mikey you can't keep increasing your sexy points. After a while they're ineffectual anyways. I thought you spent at least a year in the Northern Territory farming for sexy points and now you're at the point where people's eyes glaze over from looking at you. Honestly it's overlevelling from there on.
Don't be sexy. Be like me! Hilariously unapproachable
You shouldn't be. Awesome movie, really intense and frightening. Juno is my kind of woman. Tough, determined, resourceful, loyal-ish, loose morals, can put her leg up over her head while standing .... woo!

I actually defied you all and just went with Seven Nation Army for now. My main areas of focus for now are on handling frets and regulating my strumming, so I needed a song where I could not have to worry about making sure I was following the tab. And Seven Nation Army is ridiculously easy to memorize given that it's simple to start off with and a song I know off by heart. In ten minutes I had the tab memorized from beginning to end and I had the basics of each bar (all three of them) down pat. Now I just need to practice for speed and consistency. I plan to be playing along in time with the song itself by the weekend.
Then I'll move on to Yellow by Coldplay (and a bass riff I noticed and loved from the first time I heard the song) which has more to it, but not too much more. Then probably Maps or Gold Lion by The Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Or Watcha Want by Beastie Boys, ha! That might actually be too easy.
My fear about picking Rock Band songs is that the ones I want to learn badly (namely PDA, Don't Fear the Reaper, Everlong, etc) are probably beyond me at the moment. I don't want to bite off more than I can chew, get frustrated and give up because I can't get it. So soft foods before solids. lol

Wow. I'm someone's "go-to" guy. I'm so honored.
Lol, I figured you'd say that. No less than three other friends said the exact same thing.
Well, since that's been my exposure to most things "rock" the past year, of couse I'd suggest Rock Band. I would also recommend some Switchfoot songs (pretty much my only favorite artist that I didn't discover via RB), but if their bass is anything like their guitar, they're probably not very good beginner songs (I'm still struggling to learn alot of their stuff).
If you really do go this route, I'd recommend going into the audio options and turning the crowd and backround instruments as low as possible; this will (mostly) mute all instruments other than what you're playing, which is nice because sometimes the bass isn't always that easy to hear.
I really shouldn't have. My plan to wait six weeks was so that I wouldn't put myself in a rather tense financial situation. Which I now, unfortunately, am.
I feel ya. I'd been thinking about buying a 360, but was going to save up for it and pay for as much as possible with trade-in credit. But then I got a credit card. I still had about 100 bucks credit, but that was still about $350 in the hole right off the bat. One month later, $50 price drop. Damn.
Or Watcha Want by Beastie Boys, ha! That might actually be too easy.
I was going to jokingly suggest that song; learn that one note, and you know the whole song! Ta-da! Next step: Panic Attack!

Yeah, I had that trouble with guitar; all the songs I wanted to learn were way beyond my skill level, I had to be patient and start from the ground up. It was a good year before I was able to learn any of the songs I initally wanted to play, and even that one was pretty simple. That's why I recommended surfing through the lower-tiered songs.
I have both, but not the newer guitar hero. I haven't touched rock band and Guitar hero is collecting dust. They are fun, just no real reason to play them
I played Guitar Hero III for a while. I liked it a lot, but not enough to to stay addicted once I hit hard and had to contend with the orange key.
Blast that orange key. It is my bane. I'll stick to piss-poor DDR thank you verr much.
My pinky hates me and doesn't want to cooperate. I can't decide if I should just keep my fingers orange key up to red and just switch my pointer finger to green when need be or if I should rest on green and make my pinky do all the straining. Either way I've long since lost the coordination to make a viable guitar hero.
I played both once or twice. I'm apparently not that bad on vocals in Rock Band.
Pff. Who is bad on Vocals? They sooo easy.
Honestly, the vocals seem to be alot easier in RB2 than the first, like they give you more leeway than before. Maybe it's just me, maybe it's just because I've gotten better. I just remember before, I could only do a song I'd never heard before on Medium, but now I'm sightsinging songs on Hard and doing just as well.

I know most of the more skilled players keep their hands on the higher buttons and shift downward to hit green. Though I think on Hard (at least on the easier songs), orange doesn't pop up as much, so resting on the lower buttons is good.
I know it's difficult, and I'm not going to try and convince you there's a "payoff," but I know the game didn't really get fun until I was able to step up to Hard. That's when I really started to feel like I was "playing" the songs, and not just some lame DDR for my hand. The orange fret can be a real hurdle for some (took me over 2 years to), but once you get it down, it's awesome.
The only game like those that I've ever played is Tap Tap Revenge on the iphone (no, I don't have an iphone... I wish...). You tap little colored balls in time with the music as they cross the screen. Awesome. >_>
I've never had any interest in DDR, Rock Band or Guitar Hero. Just... not the kind of game I usually enjoy playing. I'm working my way through Fallout 3 right now, after finally getting Windows installed on my mac (god, that was a pain...). I loved Fallout 2, and I am having a great time.

I guess I don't understand what you mean by lower buttons. Are the green and red lower in tone than the orange or something because geographically they are higher. *confused*
The only game I'm playing right now is Disgaea on DS which is a revamp of the original Disgaea from PS2. I've played over 84 hours now in two weeks.
I'm punishing myself now though because of it. I figure if I had worked out 84 hours in the last two weeks I would have lost a lot of weight. So now I'm only allowed to play the game for as long as I work out that day. Since I only worked out for 20 minutes last night I think I'm going to save up for a full hour of gameplay lol.

I guess it is a bit confusing. The closer a note is to the body of the guitar, the "higher" it is (both in tone and position). The buttons closer to the top of the neck, such as the green and red, are considered "lower." So when I say people like to keep their hand on the higher frets, it means the rest their fingers on the red (pointer), yellow (middle), blue (ring), and orange (pinky) fret buttons, while the lower position is green (pointer), red (middle), yellow (ring), and blue (pinky). Most find it easier to slide their hand down to hit the green than up to hit the orange, so they keep their hand in the higher position. This is actually something generally true for real guitar players as well.
I really need to cut back my video game playing, and start focusing on memorizing lines. We open end of Feb, and we probably need to be memorized by the end of Jan. And I have alot of lines...
Don't listen to Giga, Howler. The recent loss of metal from his head has dramatically unbalanced the magnetic leylines of the chi in his head. He's lost his mind!
Oh, Giga... such a simple creature... it's so much better when the other person is conscious.
It's actually perfect; because of the size of my role (line-wise, enough with the snickering), he's already decided he's going to keep me about half an hour late after rehearsals to help me work my "megalogues" (I ramble for about 3 pages at the beginning of each act, along with a couple other substantial rants sprinkled throughout). While I'm sure his intentions are strictly related to the play (no, seriously), it does give me a chance to interact with him and sort of "read" him. Hopefully, by the end of the run, I'll have a pretty good indication of his orientation.
I hate having a broken gaydar, it makes finding dates so hard...

Okay, I'll throw in decent on vocals insofar as I don't get the American Idol reject panel comments. "Dreadful...absolutely horrible."
