What are YOU playing right now, if anything? For me, it's been Half-Life 2/Portal on the PC with the occasional WoW, Final Fantasy V Advance on the DS, and Guitar Hero 3 on the Wii.
Kingdom of Loathing and this great new game I found called "Senior Project".
This is dumb, but have you checked to make sure you haven't just blocked MTGS by mistake? (I can't imagine that would happen.)
Question for the House: What are YOU playing right now, if anything? For me, it's been Half-Life 2/Portal on the PC with the occasional WoW, Final Fantasy V Advance on the DS, and Guitar Hero 3 on the Wii.
Today, I played with flashcards, and also with a puzzle and colored pencils. Don't know if that's very helpful, though.
Heh, I can imagine it being exhausting. I'm not the best of teachers (though I've gotten better as I've gotten older, following a pretty much exponential increase in patience), so I can just imagine how difficult it is to keep going and energetic all day, every weekday.
Though one thing's shining through with every post you make - you're loving it. And we couldn't ask for more for you :).
Thank you! It's great to have support from all of you, and I couldn't ask for a better group of people to share my adventure with.
Tomorrow is the big'un for this week, so to speak. I go by myself to teach at the local highschool in the area. It will be three regular highschool classes, formalities and all that jazz. Students bow to you, even. I'm a bit afraid, and excited at the same time. I get to be like a real sensei.
I've been a bit frustrated with my lack of teaching materials. Basically, I've been thrown in and told to just teach whatever the hell I want, as long as it's good. At my university, their suggestion for first-time teachers was to just follow a course book the whole time, and wait until your second year to try to design your own things. I don't happen to have a book I can teach from, or indeed the experience and materials to make good plans, so the today was a bit harrowing for me as I tried to come up with some kind of worksheet for tomorrow. I made it in GIMP, ironically enough - the skills I picked up at my graphics shop came in surprisingly handy. I just hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow. I'm quite nervous.
Well, I'm off to try to contact the folks on Skype. Have a good night morning, everyone.
Good morning everyone its currently almost 6:30am and just got up like about an half an hour ago i am going to head off for another 8 hour shift here soon.
@Dinfiltrator: looks like your school schedule is going to be pretty busy this year but goodluck and best wishes though.
Anyway I am going to go Ill be back later this evening though. Talk to you all later. Have a good day everyone.

Several hours of Super Smash Bros Melee last night with people from my arcade. My characters are Fox, Marth/Roy, and sometimes Mewtwo. We played a surprising amount, varying our characters against each other. Using different games. Then started doing the 'best of the best' games, where everyone plays the same character to see who truly deserves to play them. By a twist of luck (and a bomb), I lost with Fox. Then we played Slo-Mo for a game, followed by several games of Speed Melee. The final game was the best. I was Mewtwo and, by use of my various abilities, stayed alive in the 5-man melee until the end. Player 3 was knocked out first, who was playing Jigglypuff, but couldn't rest anyone but Bowser. The computer was knocked out next, a level 9 Nes, who left me with one life and Bowser with two. I proceeded to lay into Bowser, easily knocking him off the first life. The second (I had something like 60% damage) was a short battle of items and smacks, ending with me throwing a Home-Run Bat at him to knock him off the map. He tried to return, but a fully charged dark energy ball saved the day. Mewtwo weens.
Otherwise, it's been Call of Duty 4 for me online with friends, and a variety of computer games like The Sims 2 and Roller Coaster Tycoon 3.
Computer-wise, I've learned I need something like $340 to upgrade the computer. Around $200 for the graphics card, $100 for a power supply that can handle it, and $40 for the installation fee from the Geek Squad, since I'm afraid to do it myself.
Ok, big news: Captain Olimar and Pikmin are in SSBB!! That is amazing, and somehow I never thought of him/them. It's such a brilliant idea, and even if he sucks, I will play with him and try to master him, because Pikmin are, by definition, teh roxxxorz.
@Alacar: Well, since I just got the Wii, but have almost no games for it, I've been playing Super Mario Galaxy pretty much nonstop. It's pretty fun, although it's very similar to Sunshine, except easier. They did add some really cool gravity-related things to it, and there are some very innovative levels. Plus, it's super-addicting and I have to finish the whole game before I can play something else.
Yeah, Captain Olimar was announced. I think he'll be fun, and I can't wait to play him. Metaknight is also high on my list of fun. I can't wait to see who else they reveal. Brawl looks epic.
I'm enjoying Galaxy. However, I think you're wrong about Sunshine. Galaxy is more like the original Super Mario 64. Lobbies to jump into rooms through, choosing specific stars, with hidden stars in between and each level has a miniboss as well as an actual boss. Plus, there's no tricks, no gimmicks. It's you as Mario without any real abilities. Sure, you can shoot those stars, but that doesn't do much. I wish we had the hats as opposed to just changing forms, but I can deal with that. I'm in the third lobby right now, taking a small break. It's going fast, which is my only complaint. Some of the stars are just way too easy.
me playing on heavy with 3x speed, song is called end of century
ill be back later, hows it going
strongbad where have you gotten into?
I'm not a fan of the song. I prefer the original End of the Century, personally. As for me, I couldn't play that on 3x. It's just not enough time for me to register. I play songs on 1x or 1.5x.
I played DDR for about... 4 hours yesterday in my arcade. Beat Paranoia Survivor on Heavy on Doubles. I'm afraid of breaking a camera trying to videotape me playing some of the songs I play. I think a demon would come out.
Today, I played with flashcards, and also with a puzzle and colored pencils. Don't know if that's very helpful, though.
Thank you! It's great to have support from all of you, and I couldn't ask for a better group of people to share my adventure with.

Well, I'm off to try to contact the folks on Skype. Have a good night morning, everyone.
Did I mention you're living my dream? I can't wait to hear some more of the stories of your success, Stuff. This is really fun to read about.
Mornin' everyone! Sorry it's been a while since I last checked in but this last week has been a little messed up.
This past week I've been trying to help my mother find out a way to help my uncle. For the past five or so years he's been wheelchair bound thanks to this stroke he had a few years before that. He was living in this trailer with his girlfriend and she had to take care of him nearly 24/7. Well, recently, she found she has to go back to work - she was recieving disability benefits because of this disease she's got. That means my uncle has to take care of himself for long periods of time and he just can't do that in the trailer he's in. So me, my mother, and some of my other family have been trying to find a way to get some help for him but boy has that been wildly unsuccessful... What he really needs is a new place but we haven't been able to find any organization that'd be willing to help that much because of the situation he's in.
Yesterday was no help to that either. We had a giant windstorm here that knocked out power to some parts of the state and completely knocked out the cable and phone systems for half the day here. Thankfully, both of those are back up this morning but in other parts of the state they aren't, so it's hit or miss to get a connection out of the county right now (we're on digital phone).
I'd read back but it's entirely too much for me right now... That and I'm just too lazy to do it right now with this headache I've got. I hate you migraines...
Fooly have i told you i loath you? you and your vice inducing hayate no gotoku? i havent stopped watching!!!! im already in epi 36 and its only been like three days!!!!
Also i want to say i just started playing FFIV DS (yes in Jap, since theres no Eng yet, who needs to read anyways i already know the story:p), and i got to say 2 things:
1)VOICE ACTING!!!!!!!! it gives that slap of Greatness that you always knew was there but never fully grasped on the snes (the acting is that good, im just hoping the english dub doesnt kill it)
2) Cecil's Dark Knight Armor is the COOLEST THING EVER!!!!!!!!! im a ff junkie since like 8 years old (im 23 now :p) and i've seen my share of cool stuff in FF and elsewhere, but this new design for the armor is so good it makes me drool (Also Alacar i demand that Krashbot begins the campaign with that armor on, completely identical including the back strap for the blade and a buckler instead of any heavy shields).
sorry its just that i love that game, its the game that started it all for me.
aside from that not much else to say... trying to save money for a deck i got plans of doing come morningtide, trying to buy a new HDD, and waiting for my anime to load so i can watch it nonstop (Goddamn Hayate is hilarious, the cat girl outfit makes me laugh till i drop:))

Playing? Video games- none. I don't have a Wii (no bad Wii jokes, please) or a PS3, not that there's anything I'd want to play on either system except Fire Emblem anyway. Besides, the Wii controller annoys me. I play video games to sit on my butt and relax, not jump around and get actual exercise.
Last game I played was...hmm...Rogue Galaxy? FF XII? Tales of the Abyss? (Jade= Win, by the way), Valkyrie Profile (again)?
I do play a fair amount of D&D, both IRL and here (running here).
Mostly, I read books. Last book I read was Dragon Tears by Dean Koontz. Interesting. Then I picked up 1st to Die at a thrift store. Yay.
And yes, no incantatrix for you. Or anyone. That class makes puppies cry. Mostly because they are the former Big Bads who have been Baleful Polymorphed into said puppies. By you. Because you're an incantatrix.

It's only MTGS. Every other website is fine. I'm getting that it can't find the server (generic for firefox.) Using Firefox on Win XP Pro. I am on a wireless network, currently posting from the main PC (in the office). I have, I have, and YES I have. I even restarted the router, and I'm about to restart the modem.
Huh, odd. That makes all of the things I would usually expect either impossible or highly unlikely. It's probably not some sort of trojan that's re-routing you (anti-virus software), it's likely not something glitchy with the network and the firewall (only MTGS is not connecting), though that one's still possible. If you're posting from home that it's even less likely that MTGS somehow got blocked.
I'm trying to think if there's anything else that could be wrong. As I said when I was trying to help Foolycooly7777 the other day, I'm not very good with this stuff once you get past the basic problems, but I help where I can.
Try accessing MTGS on the same computer using a different browser (doesn't matter which one). That should give us some information as to whether it's just an issue with Firefox, or if it's your entire machine (entire network is out seeing as you seem to be able to access MTGS from other computers on the same network).
Well I just woke up and its freezing outside:-/, so that means no fishing today:suckup:.......O well. FNM Tomorrow!!!:D and heres hoping I can win for the 3rd straight week:smileup:.Talk later:p

Yes, you're right. I actually haven't played many Mario games other than Sunshine and Galaxy, but as far as graphics and the way he moves and jumps, they are pretty similar. I guess Galaxy is more quest-based, while in Sunshine you get to free-roam a lot more. Although in Galaxy Mario does have the spin move, which I haven't played with before, although maybe it's in other games. Yeah, and some levels are incredible easy, but towards the end, some of the levels are really really hard. The final boss level with Bowser is pretty hard, although it's easy to get mushrooms, so you can try as many times as you want, pretty much. And afterwards when you are just trying to get all the stars, there are a series of levels that take forever. I've finished two of them, but they took me like 20 tries each.
Damn! Ragnarok online is getting pretty competitive these days. Hurray for the Phil! I wish I can be a part of this..This is what Ive been playing for the past two months..Here are some sample vidz
That really sucks, IS :(. Are there any carers you could hire to look after your uncle, at least part-time? I guess from the sound of it he's physically handicapped rather than mentally handicapped, so he'd understand fully why you were getting help for him.
He is just physically handicapped from the stroke. Just can't walk is all really...
As for a homecare worker, you gotta understand the man is stubborn as hell. Unless he actually knows the person helping him he doesn't want anything to do with the person. And even then it's really hard to get him to cooperate with help.
The kicker is that he lives over 2000 kilometers from me. The majority of the family lives in the Tampa area but they all have day jobs (some have two). The family agrees he really just needs a more handicapped friendly place to live but that's the hard part of the thing.
The whole situation is complicated and with me being so far away it's kinda hard to get a true grasp on the situation considering how drama-oriented that side of my family is. I feel fairly confident though I've done all I can for now so I'm cool here for now...
And now, if my internet connection will cooperate (afforementioned windstorm problem came back earlier today), I'm going back to my Paladin on WoW. Damn digital crack...

@Shadowfox: Blues Brothers. I love that movie :).
Ah, well, I'm going to be working on it. I'm hoping it gets harder. Then again, I'm a bit of a Mario veteran and all that, so maybe that's why it seems so easy. I mean, the... What, third, fourth world of Super Mario 64 (I'm talking about the snowland with the Penguin race) was much harder than the 15th level of Galaxy. That's just sad.
Damn! Ragnarok online is getting pretty competitive these days. Hurray for the Phil! I wish I can be a part of this..This is what Ive been playing for the past two months..Here are some sample vidz
What an awesome RPG to show some real teamwork. Sepiriel, are you sure you wont play?
Sorry Jun its not that i dont want to play its that my current HDD wont LET me :p, honestly i got like 8gigs left which are split into two parts so my cache space is like 3 gigs big which is not enough considering all the programs and other stuff i got installed.

@Shadowfox: Blues Brothers. I love that movie :).

Cute and fluffy always wins. Blue eyes are just a bonus.
My helpdesk should you need me.
