Frankly they think it sucks. Honestly, even I'm gonna say I'm caught up in the hype a bit. Makes me wish I had a 360.
How can they decide it sucks when it hasn't come out yet I'm hoping Mass Effect lives up to the hype, I could really use a game to make me stop waiting for a KOTOR3 that doesn't seem nearly close enough :(.
I think the CA crowd still has some bitterness saved up for the Inn.
They've been bitter against the inn? Did I miss this or forget it? I have no idea why they'd be bitter against us, unless they immaturely assumed we thought free-form was bad.

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.
I'm finding that I'm unemployable around here. Everywhere I've applied to has politely returned to say there's no position for me there. I can't figure out why. Looks like I have to resort to working at McDonalds, a place I've been avoiding.
Edit: I have to apologize to the P&P Inn guys. The troller was just TFE again, messing about. Which I assumed, but couldn't prove. And I also apologize for not allowing the Inn into best World Project nominations, but I have to say it doesn't really count as one. Many apologies. But you guys still count as World Project Leaders (in my mind, at least), so those nominations go through.
This deck is not really something a good amount of legacy veterans would expect to do well. However the deck got 24th place at the mana leak open with more then 100 players which happened not too far off before when goyf came out. The deck also got 5th place on the 2nd day of the mana leak open 3 with 48 players which happened earlier this month. I have played the deck a few times and I must say if your a big black sui player then I would recommend this deck.
Chrome Mox: Mainly for mana acceration to give the deck more reach in the early game as well as it dodges non-basic land hate like back to basics and wasteland especially.
Lightning bolt: The best direct damage spell in the game.
Hymn to tourach: Basically when this discard spell resolves it can cripple threshold and it is usually a must counter for landstill as well. Also can cripple some combo decks but decks like TES, iggy pop usually is not effected by hymn.
Terminate: Kills tarmogoyf and good creature removal spell against threshold in general.
Night's Whisper: Card draw which can be handy in the mid to late game especially against decks like threshold since they can filter cards to get what they need.
Dark confidant: Another cantrip enabler as well as it is in a 2/1 body which will help with the decks clock sometimes.
Rakdos guildmage: This creature is quite impressive in the mid to late game where it can make goblins which can be use either as chump blocking or used to swing for the win. Also its other activated ability can serve as defensive combat purposes as well.
Headhunter: can work well against blue control decks or any other blue based deck.
Hypnotic specter: Pretty much the same as headhunter except more consistent.
Rakdos augermage: Great card at chump blocking nimble mongoose consider of its body and its first strike. Also can provide the same role as specter and hunter.
Undead gladiator: It's recurring ability can be very useful against the likes of landstill and also any other deck that packs alot of creature removal. Also it can be a good chump blocker as well.
Shriekmaw: Its evoke ability can make it very valueble when dealing with tarmogoyf, werebear, meddling mage and just about any other extensively played creature in legacy. Also it can serve as another clock beater too.
Tormod's crypt: I imagine there was ichrorid bridge, cephalid breakfast, and loam decks at the mana leak open so crypt would be a tech card against the metagame.
withered wretch: Pretty much the same as tormods but with a 2/2 clock creature as well.
Shattering spree: Stops pithing needle which can hurt the deck also destroying belcher as soon as possible from CRET belcher can be a valueble asset as well.
Engineered plague: Trumps goblins, empty the warren goblins and other tribal decks like elves.
Pyroclasm: Same as plague pretty much.
Well that is all for this week legacy of the week! I hope you guys will enjoy the deck as much as i did playing with it for a little while.
By the way I was first in nominations for best legacy strategist thank you all for the votes but now the real voting will start pretty soon.
Nice deck. I'm not sure, but I think it looks relatively cheap to build, apart from the Mires. I could probably take out the Reclaim and one of each tutor in my deck to put in 4 Chrome Mox and a Pyroclasm to tutor up in game 1.
I'm also currently building a cube to draft from. Should be fun. Although, there aren't many other players up here. I don't think I could get a full eight even at our gaming club. Especially at home, it'll probably be Winston draft. But it'll be fun.
Today, I got up, went to calculus, and then took my computer programming midterm. I thought it would be a lot harder than it was. I still messed up a couple of places, but I still think I did pretty well. Got an 86 on my math midterm, and a 78 on my psych midterm. Thought I did better on psych, but oh, well.
Hunter-- I like it after. And good luck with the grades issue.
Nai-- Ouch. Good luck with working wherever you end up.
I just want a job. I can't do anything. Can't see movies, can't buy games or movies, can't play Magic, can't do anything, really. Just sit in my room and play games all day. Not as fun as you think.

yep the rakdos is probably not too pricy to build plus I also I like when people always play a totally different deck at any legacy tournament and end up doing well with it. Good to see other people try different decks then keep on playing threshold and other noticable decks in the format.
Wow, well it is certainly nice to be missed! As it is, I'm only just finding time and energy to post on here, so I'm a bit about that. The offer from Royal Holloway came through - ABB. Very achievable and it only means two re-takes. Anything else could have meant up to four.
@Kevin: Loving the Rakdos deck. Headhunter would be the only card I might drop, but I can't suggest what for!
@Nai: There'll be something for you, don't worry. What is it you really want to do at this stage?
'Fox.
I am glad you like the deck. Yep I was thinking of dropping the headhunters for either thoughtseize or for rakdos pit dragon or something. Also the deck was probably a homebrew creation.
@nai: yeah that doesn't sound like fun at all and hopefully you will get a job soon.
Anyway its almost 6am so I am going to get ready for work soon in a bit. Talk to you all later though and take care everyone.
I've played Rakdos Pit Dragon in a Standard RDW, and it's a lovely finisher. I'm not an expert at Legacy though.
Anyway, I like Rakdos decks, and I like this deck
@ nai: I hope you'll get job soon.
@ Hunter44: Yeah, better:p
Yep I think rakdos pit dragon would be worth testing in this deck at the very least besides most people will not expect it so that can become a huge advantage for you when you want to win the games. Afterall not many expected threads of disloyalty to control tarmogoyfs but apparently it was a huge mirror breaker like card at the legacy championships.
Well see you all later and have a good one going to go to work now.
They've been bitter against the inn? Did I miss this or forget it? I have no idea why they'd be bitter against us, unless they immaturely assumed we thought free-form was bad.
It seems that way, at least. I don't dare go near CA for fear of catching whatever stupidity virus they all have there (except Nai), but TFE's attitude is nothing less than indicative of his opinion. He thinks "real" RPing is "so you're in a room. COMMAND?" He's just another one of those elitist snobs like some of the Den members who thinks that gameplay mechanics have no place in roleplaying. Obviously he's never touched a tabletop game or sucks horribly at them, so his opinion is invalidated by his lack of experience. Actually, I'd just say his opinion is invalidated simply because he's frickin' TFE.
I have to apologize to the P&P Inn guys. The troller was just TFE again, messing about. Which I assumed, but couldn't prove. And I also apologize for not allowing the Inn into best World Project nominations, but I have to say it doesn't really count as one. Many apologies. Well it's nice to know a nomination is possible for me. I put a LOT of effort and time into the campaigns I've run so far, and the only reason I took a break from the whole thing was because I felt like people were treating me like a console to be turned on or off whenever they felt like it. But regardless, I got a lot of praise for the way I ran my campaigns and I was hoping to actually see that effort come to fruition somehow. I'm *****ing, though, so I'll stop.
I thought the troll was TFE. He followed the oh-so-predictable pattern that TFE follows EVERY time he gimmicks the site: lurk in clans for a while, make a post in Entertainment or Speak Your Mind that's meant to be subtly incendiary, and spam the hell out of the Colo threads. It smacked of him in a big way.
I hope you find something soon, Nai. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Hi all... currently home after a day with my friends.... ether sorry, i tried playing DQM:J but it just didnt get me hooked... im just incapable of getting hooked into breeding games it seems... also to clarify if the game is good enough to get me hooked i DO acquire a legal copy when it becomes available in my area (which is why i would have bought any phoenix wright game had it been available here :D), still I understand where the emotions for your earlier question come from so i dont hold it against you in anyway (just wanted to clarify that :D).
Jun looking good, honestly nothing beats a clean face (well i lie a kick as beard owns in my book any day of the week, but that aside clean shaved is the way to go :p)
Hope everyone is having a nice week, im going nuts because i lack the design talent to make a deck but have the ideas swarming my head 20 out of 24 hours (the other 4 hours are used watching anime :p)
anyways, hi everyone.

No worries. I'm very guarded about Dragon Quest because I know its fate is sort of make or break outside of Japan. Normally I'm more than fine with emulation - I've been replaying Phantasy Star that way recently - but I want to see DQM: Joker sell as well as possible so I can see other DQ games come over here =)
As for monster tips and such, it really depends on where you are in the game. Generally it's a good idea to try and scout at least one of everything for synthesis, although there are some monsters you're forced to come back for later. The gigantes on Infant Isle is an example of this. Also remember that different monsters show up at night than during the day. On Infant you can find ghosts at night; they're your first undead, and the undead family is essential for really great synthesis.
If you're still on the first island I suggest grabbing more than one slime. They have a flexible skill set and can be upgraded to slime knights later. There's a shadow in the cave on Infant, and it's got some great magic that can be synthed onto something more robust. Also, a king slime shows up in the shrine at the top of the island, but he's not scoutable for some time. It's great to know he's there, though, since king slimes make great party members due to their Cleric skillset.
Also, I'm currently beaming. I've been nominated for best world project leader ^______^;;
And I picked Photon Eater for Best WPL, because he took care of 2 WPs. Otherwise it would've gone to you, ether. Everyone else who's interested should go stop by and nom their choice.
As for me.. looks like I'm probably gonna get nom'd for Best Member and maybe Best Signature. I'm already in the running for FCC Player of the Year. Is this for reals?
Oh yeah! Kevin! About those Headhunters in your Rakdos deck: Replace them with Oona's Prowler. It came to me in a sudden inspiration while walking to my car today.
You're really popular this year, Alacar. Rightly so, too. You do a lot around the site and a lot of people know you pretty well. I threw in my vote for you in the best member nominations, but I haven't voted in anything else primarily because I don't know who to vote for.
Josh is actually bitter that people are nominating him, saying that since he's not sure whether or not he's actually coming back here from his break it would be useless if he won. I dunno, I nominated him anyway.
Apparently TFE REALLY has something against the Inn. Check the things he said under his newest gimmick and some of the post titles he came up with. Jealous much?
GUH. I've finished DQM: Joker and now I'm trying to fuse all my favorite monsters (namely anything from DQ 4 or 6) but it's so difficult. In order to get Necrosaro/Pizarro, this is what I have to do:
- Synth 4 Wrecktors with 4 Shadows to get 4 Jums
- Synth three of those jums. One with a beast, one with a material, and one with a nature, to get Mum, Boe, and Boh.
- Synth Mum and Boh together, then Jum and Boe together, then synth the results of THOSE synths to get Mumboh-Jumboe.
- Synth Mumboh-Jumboe with a Goldman to get Ruin
- Synth Ruin with a Roseguardian/Pizarro Knight to finally get Necrosaro/Pizarro.
Fortunately this will fill out my monster and skill libraries a little more, bringing me closer to getting Leopold and Emyprea. Thankfully I already went through the long process of getting a Roseguardian and am levelling him up to evolve his skills now. Malroth/Sidoh is doing 15 damage to liquid metal slimes in one hit by this point, so it's much easier to level up. But after I do all this...I have to get Deathmoore. Whoa.
I realize this meant absolutely nothing to people not familiar with Dragon Quest. To those people I say GET FREAKIN' FAMILIAR.
Thanks for the remarks, ether.. if I knew Josh didn't want a nom, I wouldn't have said it, and picked you instead, but that's that. If Nai doesn't mind me deleting my old post and renomming I might do it.
As for "Best Member"... what are the qualifications for that?

Well, I would appreciate it but it's not necessary in the least.
I think the biggest qualifications for best member are "don't be a Gutter member and don't be a douche to anyone." You fit the bill =)

Why does the Gutter have a stigma? I've never been there, but isn't it like a storywriting thing? What's wrong with that? What do I not know about?

Once you've submitted a nomination, it's final. Even if you delete the post, it's still going to be the nomination we use.
Also, I need to vent about the awards for a second. It really pisses me off when someone that isn't even a part of a certain forum decides to nominate someone for a forum-specific award. they have no reason to do so other than to support their buddy, and that's bull-****.
If you go the entire year without posting in a certain forum, yo have no right to be nominating anyone for the categories in that forum. It's why I don't nominate anyone for best legacy strategist or best artist or anything that I have no business nominating in.
I can't believe Forum Awards have come around again. I guess it really has felt like along time since the last ones. I expected this year to go on for a little longer, though. The end of summer and the beginning of autumn really went by quickly.
I'm not sure who all I'd like to nominate. I don't expect to get many nominations this year. I didn't really expect to last time, but this time I know I'm more likely to be right due to not being around very much. And really, it was pretty strange that it happened in the first place.
On another note, I think the feminism thread I started in Debate was a bit of a flop. I was hoping to have some stimulating discussion with people about the state of feminism, etc, but instead have just reexplaining the elemental concepts of it over and over again to a couple peeps. And of course, then they act like I'm just not being clear enough.
It feels like it's been months since I've really been very active on MTGS. I wonder what happened? I guess I stoped devoting as much time and energy to posting, and after a while it started to feel like it was still taking too much energy to keep up.
All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
But the rainbow is an image of hope for many reasons, as it is a brilliant sight coming out of oftimes dismal weather.

Excuse me? I find this offensive. Just because I don't post much in the Standard or Extended or Artwork forums doesn't mean I don't go there. It doesn't mean I don't read threads. So I sincerely hope these comments weren't potshots in my direction.
As far as that issue in general, no matter what you say or do, Yukora, even if you were the admin, if you make the people vote on 'the best' of anything, it's going to be part legit award contest, part popularity contest. The only thing you could do to keep that from happening is to make the awards private to the mod's or mods' choice(s) relevant to their forum, in which case it's all up to the mod or whoever they choose to help them pick, which is going to be very difficult to keep from being impartial.
Personally, I am glad we have these awards every year. We do recognize exceptional people on the forums. But I also take in hand with the awards a grain of salt, since I do know that people are going to nominate and vote for people they know/like.
That being said... how you doin' Yukora? Holding up well I hope? I don't mean to be rude to you or anything. Just wanted to address this issue.
*Alacar waves to Mamelon It does feel weird.. it has been a year, hasn't it? Man... where've you been? What's up in Mameland?
Jun looking good, honestly nothing beats a clean face (well i lie a kick as beard owns in my book any day of the week, but that aside clean shaved is the way to go :p)
Thanks guys. Nice to hear that, Ive been sporting the same mustache for four years. Now with your comments I dint not regret shaving it. My fiance just told me what would I look like if I shaved it, and I felt that it would make her happy if I would.
About the grade issues, I think my Law professor might give me a removal exam..But for what? I didnt fail because Im stupid or dumb but I failed because he failed me..But oh well, got to study. Im just droppin by to sau hi to ya all
Yeah, by the rules of the thing, Alacar, I generally can't accept edited/deleted posts. I can only accept things like someone editing to remove a diatribe but not changing the name. If I was to be strict, I'd have to even discard -those- votes in general.
I personally don't nominate or vote on these things. There's only four categories (this year) that I know even remotely well, and all of them happen to be in forums I moderate. I dislike popularity contests (which may or may not have anything to do with the fact that I never seem to win the things myself.
Blegh. My 9 key seems to have finally hit the wall of 'death to key'. It used to activate every so often on an I, now it was activating on every o and i, and now... Well, it's a bit cockeyed. I hope I don't have to use it anytime soon.
Excuse me? I find this offensive. Just because I don't post much in the Standard or Extended or Artwork forums doesn't mean I don't go there. It doesn't mean I don't read threads. So I sincerely hope these comments weren't potshots in my direction.
We've known each other long enough for you to realize that if i was taking a pot-shot at you, I would use your name.
There's a big difference between having limited activity, and having none at all. My comments are more concerned about the latter.
As far as that issue in general, no matter what you say or do, Yukora, even if you were the admin, if you make the people vote on 'the best' of anything, it's going to be part legit award contest, part popularity contest. Regardless of whether or not I have any power to stop it, it still irks me.
Personally, I am glad we have these awards every year. We do recognize exceptional people on the forums. But I also take in hand with the awards a grain of salt, since I do know that people are going to nominate and vote for people they know/like.
I know this, too. However, it's still rude to all the people actually deserving of some recognition to randomly nominate someone based on nothing more than your ties to them.
That being said... how you doin' Yukora? Holding up well I hope? I don't mean to be rude to you or anything. Just wanted to address this issue.
No offense meant and none taken, on my part.
I've been doing pretty good lately. I've been working more, so my activity has again been lessened. Not because I am too busy, but the new hours have made me lazy after school, homework, extracurriculas, and work. Just don't have the will to post a lot.
Don't worry Nai--Keyboards are at least like $10 at the store. Not too expensive. Even us guys without a job can scrape that much together in a short time.
Wow, Yukora done posted when I did. Well, I'm glad you're still around, at least. As for your comments, I should have figured. And I understand. Even though I don't fit the bill you describe, there are still people on the forum who still do that.
@Sepiriel: Well Im just gonna tell it to my mom..Oh God Im dead meat here in the house..
@Kevin: Thanks buddy. I need that
Well back into some comparison, Ive just shaved my precious mustache..Is it better?

Actually, I'd just say his opinion is invalidated simply because he's frickin' TFE.
Also, I'm currently beaming. I've been nominated for best world project leader ^______^;;
TFE: Ugh. I knew he'd be back somehow.

It's a great way to get in touch with me for trades, or just chattin'. Just don't stalk me please.
As for what goes on in there.. I can only imagine, but I want nothing to do with it. I have enough to do here.
edit: Holy crap. I have a fourth trophy. I guess Patriot Angels winning 2nd was enough to get one.

All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel.

*Alacar waves to Mamelon
It does feel weird.. it has been a year, hasn't it? Man... where've you been? What's up in Mameland?

Thanks guys. Nice to hear that, Ive been sporting the same mustache for four years. Now with your comments I dint not regret shaving it. My fiance just told me what would I look like if I shaved it, and I felt that it would make her happy if I would.

My helpdesk should you need me.
There's a big difference between having limited activity, and having none at all. My comments are more concerned about the latter.
Regardless of whether or not I have any power to stop it, it still irks me.
I know this, too. However, it's still rude to all the people actually deserving of some recognition to randomly nominate someone based on nothing more than your ties to them.
No offense meant and none taken, on my part.
I've been doing pretty good lately. I've been working more, so my activity has again been lessened. Not because I am too busy, but the new hours have made me lazy after school, homework, extracurriculas, and work. Just don't have the will to post a lot.
Wow, Yukora done posted when I did. Well, I'm glad you're still around, at least. As for your comments, I should have figured. And I understand. Even though I don't fit the bill you describe, there are still people on the forum who still do that.
