I'm off to school in like, ten minutes hopefully. My dad's seeing the doctor at the mo' and hopefully they won't be long so I won't be too late.
I've been listening to Mae a lot. I was kind of into them when I first got their CD, but now I love it. The singer has such a great voice.
I'm working seven hours tomorrow. Lame. I totally miss a Saturday. And on Sunday I'm at my aunt's house for a family thing. I'm gonna take my camera and like, 4+ rolls of film, though, because she lives in neighborhood with good scenery.
Lastly ether, just a quick fire question, I'm currently stuck with Tales of the Abyss, I'm trying my best to get all the moves for the characters, but I can't find the old guy in the desert, the one that teaches Guy a move, so please help, I've just got upto the bit were you save chesedonia from falling into the qilfoth or however you spell it...
Erm...well, I remember finding him in Oasis, but I can't remember exactly when that was O_o;; I do remember he was standing right next to the item shop, though.
We've had four power outages in the last hour here, and it's annoying. Also, lack of dinner foods.
on a happier note - I am going to visit Chicago this weekend so that will be fun... I'm visiting Kentucky with family for the whole month then back to england and the real world. I hate it when that happens
Please be happier everyone, it makes me sad to see so many people with badness in their lives

Happens a lot in here, actually. You should stick around more, and maybe you'll get to see Arguas really go wild with the multiquote button.
Edit:Sarnath'd horribly.
I'd do one similar, but I've just not been in the mood lately. I've been lurking, but I've had my mind on other things. I should've put the AotW up either yesterday or today, but it's not gonna happen unless I get a sudden burst of inspiration tonight. Mostly I've just been keeping track of getting stuff added to my collection, and looking at jobs. Wizard magazines is hiring editorial/intern staff right now, so I'll apply there most likely. They publish the Inquest Gamer, Toyfare, Wizard, and AnimeInsider magazines, among others.
@ Photon: TBH. The contests never really held much interest for me. I tried them in Ruby, won a couple with my Milotic and never really bothered again.
They're sort of boring.
With Pokesav, you can actually cheat in them too I think.
However, I did complete the game/pokedex (excluding some event Pokemon) before I used it anyways. And I only use it to get Pokemon to have crazy spaz battles with my mate Ryan.
E.G. My Slaking w/Huge Power, vs his Shuckle with Arena Trap and Power Swap >.<
I still find certain uses of that I.E. that damn Slaking to be in horrible taste. One use of cheat devices is like using MWS, another is like packing Power Nine at FNM, only you don't own the power and you took a sharpy to Mox Sapphire and wrote "Plus when this comes into play, counter target spell" on it. (Oh, and you bribed the judge so that you can get away with that nonsense.)
P.S. I just downloaded the Amy Winehouse album. I like her music for some reason.
I saw her on TV a few days ago and have been curious. What's her sound like?
Amy Winehouse is mostly a modern blues artist, panda. She's got a sound very similar to, say, Fiona Apple with much less of an electronic influence and much more of a down-home New Orleans jazz feel. I like her a lot, even if her dental work gets her made fun of O_o;;
@Pokesav: Eew.
In other news, I want one of these. AND I MEAN NOW.
EDIT: Oh em gee.

Hello everyone i deicded to write a poem about the Earth and its suffering tell me what you think. This is just the begnning of the poem.
The sky of Crimson Weeps for Gia
Gia suffers her Enternal wounds
All around her ignore
As the sky of crimson weeps
Im a very avid writer of poems. One of my poems "What did we do." Which is about the holo-caust will be featured in the 2010 Poem antholegies, because i won a contest. Sadlt for someone i can only write sad poems good all other poems i write about happines turn out sad in the end anyway. Anywho hope everyones having a good day
I think you've got a great start there, Allin. For something so short, it has a visceral feel to it. I love to wirte poetry myself; it seems the only medium that speaks to me anymore, really, although I do keep plugging away at that autobiography.
There's an anthology out there somewhere with a poem of mine in it, too, although I forget what the book is called. It's nice to have your work recognized sometimes, huh? =)
With Pokesav, you can actually cheat in them too I think.
However, I did complete the game/pokedex (excluding some event Pokemon) before I used it anyways. And I only use it to get Pokemon to have crazy spaz battles with my mate Ryan.
To further quote this: While it MIGHT be completely harmless for you others ruin it by putting Pokesav'd pokemon into the Wi-Fi Battle Tower and into random tournaments and matches. It's a bit of a nightmare of how irresponsible the use of it has been overall.
To shorten that: If something can be used for evil - it will be.
Ethersphere: Good choice: I love those M3 things myself. However I doubt we can talk alot about going ons with them.
Edit: Allin: I have to agree with Ethersphere. Not a bad start you got there.
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl: I never really got the game this time around, and I don't really expect to (I'm debating even possibly selling my DS for some extra cash).
Also, for poems, I really am not a great poet at all, so I can't really write them, nor know if the poems are good are not that you listed above.
Photon: You reminded me of the one time I played magic, when we went and modified any cards the way we saw fit. We had a COP:Red become a COP:Pokemon (the 8th edition art was somewhat like the shape of a pokeball...so we changed the art and text using markers. And then we continued by using other cards, to be pokemon card types. However, by the end of the day, we had a bit ...crude...cards (Forest of Sodomy anyone?)...I still keep them, in the hell pits of my binders, along with my Unhinged set. I may upload some of the less crude ones if you want me to, but I doubt that.
Also, my old computer seems to have crapped out over the past 12 hours. It will not turn on at all, and I'm guessing that the PSU broke on it. Yay, something I really don't want to replace. At least I should be able to easily salvage the Hard Drive and RAM from it (as thats really all worth keeping in it, maybe the video card too).
Finally, I have my driver license test at noon tomorrow. I hope I pass, I'm just worried about parallel parking, and my 50% success rate at it so far.
guys, whats that 80's classic movie. its like roller something, its like rollerskates + hockey with fast moving objects? help? it wa kinda brutal. and futuristic
Things haven't been too bad for me, but I feel like my anxiety has been getting worse and worse. It seems to grow as I get older. It just never seems to leave me alone.
I'm going to start finding out about my college options and see what I can do from there, and I'd like to take further steps toward transitioning if I'm able. It's overwhelming to think about. I'm getting better at dealing with such things, but it seems like I can't stop stressing over it.
I wish I could just let go of all the panic and the superstitions and fears.
I hear that. Some days it seems like my anxieties that got me in trouble (and had me switch majors) halfway through college have never left me, and in some ways have gotten worse. It's as if I'm terribly afraid of success, or afraid of growing up, or both. The latter, I know I have a latent fear of, ever since highschool when I was loathe to learn how to drive or find a job, but still... It irks. I need to find a solution to it, and I'm struggling, it seems.
Update: As some of you know, my long-distance girlfriend of 2 years has finally moved to Tennessee. She lives about 2-3 hours away, and things are shaping up that I'll be able to visit her soon. I just need the green light from her mom.
Good luck with that. I hope your relationship works out for you. Perhaps things will solidify more now that you're closer together.
I finished reading the new harry potter quite some time ago, and am in need of a new read. any suggestions? I dont have a preference to themes or anything
Every time somebody brings up this question, it seems like I respond with this: The Coldfire Trilogy by C.S. Friedman. It is flat-out awesome. If you're looking for fantasy, you might like The Runelords by David Farland, or The Saga of Recluce by L.E. Modesitt.
Onto why my life sucks right now, even though I'm changing myself:
My brother (who is 13) and his two friends were found looking a naughty pictures on the computer, standard high-school stuff. But, my brother and his friend were in middle school, and the one showing them is in high-school. While that is bad, what is worse is that they did something called the "taco" which I don't even want too fathom what that is. When the sets of parents found out about that, the fathers agreed too get all of the families together and talk this out, but one mother called her police officer friend for advice and the officer scream "RAPE" and filed a police report. While I understand that it is a good thing too do, what she has done has condemned an innocent young man to jail for at least 5 years, if not more, all over jumping the gun because her officer friend was a little too ancy about the whole situation. Of course, they were undressed and in the same room while they were looking at the pictures and "doing the deed." But it wasn't only the older child instagating this, bother smaller children did it too, but the mother wont see that, it's now a situation of "My child can do no wrong." and its just wrong, she has a biased opinion and will too the end.
If every kid who iniated a group wank, showed another kid porn, or what have you was charged with rape our society would be crippled.
I have to agree with Sakura on this one. This seems like a rather common and/or trivial thing to me, and only the officer's outrage seems to have sparked interest in a case. If nobody objected, there's not much case for "rape", per se, and I don't see really where they're going with the case. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail and the jury/judge will see this for the sham it seems to be, if it even gets that far.
On the book front: I Love Terry Pratchett - although some people do not, I think he is a genius and his discworld books are well worth the read! (and the dune series is worth a look at)
Political intrigue has never been my forte, and thus I didn't really enjoy the Dune series. Well, what I read of it, anyway. Pratchett is a veritable genious, though, and his parodies are some of the best in sci-fi. I've only read one or two of his books, but they've been great.
Ya see, dad's gonna be hooking me up with a DVD burner, which is awesome because now I can burn all my shows and get more. I've already got ATHF (all episodes+movie), Transformers G1, ReBoot, and X-Men. I will be getting Spider-Man (1990s animated series), Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, and Trigun ASAP as well. I can free up space on my hard drives. Whew.
Good for you. This is how I got started on my epic adventure, once upon a time. Now look at me - I've got a case dedicated to storing just DVD+Rs, and I've got around 150 DVDs burned at the moment. That's somewhere around 600 gigs of anime, just as a rough estimate. Yikes is an understatement. Just out of curiosity, does your burner have dual-layer capacity? I've found that sometimes I actually prefer Dual-layer discs for storing series that take up more space than a regualar DVD holds. It's nice not to have to split things up over multiple DVDs, which can sometimes result in filler space left over. DLs can be expensive though, and they write slower than regular DVDs.
@mr.stuff: nice banner! i love totoro & his awesome lil' kami buddies. Can't say that I know as much pokemon as you do - just enough to impress a five year old.
catbus: next stop - little sister
I haven't played Pokemon in so long, I wouldn't know one end of a Slaking from the other. It's been years and years. But thanks for the complement on the banner, anyway. I've seen the code to implement a rotating multi-part banner, and if I had my own webspace, I'd totally make one that rotates through Miyazaki films.
I -totally- hate shaving. I mean, I don't get much protein, and my body seems determined to use it to grow facial hair. It must be because of how incredibly manly I am.
Haha, sounds like me. I'll go for up to four days in a row without, and I usually don't end up shaving until it's my day off and I'm not in a hurry in the morning. Facial hair grows on me like grass grows after a summer rain - only faster. Hair has a bad habit of growing on me pretty much all over: the back side of my hands, my toes, feet, all over my chest, and it's making advances on my shoulders and back. I'm like freakin' Austin Powers crossed with a hobbit or somethin. It's scary.
Hi all i havent been around much of late...suffice to say a lot of things have taken place in my life in a very few moments.
I have come to a point in my life where i find myself in a predicament...i did a few stupid things and lets just say my family did not approve... its not something im particularly proud of and i really regret ever doing what i did...
...
If it's something you did around here or through IM that got you in trouble, I can see why you might be forced to stop activities. Honestly, it seems a bit questionable to me, but I assume you have your reasons, and I respect that. As Ether said, you were one of the nicer people around here, and it's a shame you feel you have to leave. I don't see why you deleted your posts, though, but what's done is done, and I wish you the best.
Well, this morning I went in for jury duty. I didn't have to really sit on a panel, because the case was resolved this morning before the trial began. It only took about an hour and fifteen minutes altogether. It wasn't so bad, and chances are that I won't be called in for duty again, though since the term for being a potential juror lasts for months, it's a possibility.
That's awesome that you didn't have to sit through the thing, eh? I've only gotten a notice for *possible* jury duty once in the mail, and nothing's come of it yet. Honestly, I hope it never does, because I don't think I'd ever find myself anything but bored in a courtroom.
Yeah he is in a diff country, I expected nothing. I think he missinterpretted what his wife would think and told him so we could chat
I have suspicions it was something along those lines as well, but that's rather due to not having much else to go on. I didn't see anything wrong (well, very much wrong) with what was said.
i finished the poem actually it still needs work though
The sky of Crimson Weeps for Gia Gia suffers her Enternal wounds All around her ignore As the Sky of Crimson weeps
The Glory of those who are Ignorant Stands by to none They Live for the suffering of Gia As the Sky of Crimson weeps
Once we be gone shall Gia be healed Her joys will be glorious once again Gia shall smile once again In the end the Sky of Crimson will weep no longer
@Ether: Poems speak to mew they seem to be an outlit of emotions for me some times. Yes it is good to have your worked reconized once in-awhile.
In the second line, the word needs to be either "eternal" or "internal". I've never seen the spelling "Gia", either - usually, it's either "Gaea" or "Gaia". Other than that, and a few minor word arrangements, it's a fairly decent poem. It has a good mood to it.
@Alacar's job:
I wish you the best in finding a new one. Temp-jobs suck like a Hoover, that they do. Honestly, I don't know why I haven't been fired from my job yet. I've done almost everything in the book you can do at one point or another, but they're so hard up for people to work here, they'll take anyone they can get, I guess. At my one-year evaluation, it was brought up that I'd been late 114 work days out of the past year. All they told me was "try to do better". I've been warned for everything from being on the internet during work hours, to missing hours and not making them up, to listening to my MP3 player under my headphones. They know I'm actively looking for other jobs, and at one point I even told them I was quitting. They keep holding onto me though. I don't know whether to be grateful or annoyed.
---------------------------
Update on me: I've just finished book five of The Runelords. Pardon my language, but DAMN, that was some good stuff. There is so much just raw awesome fantasy/sci-fi packed into these pages. I kept expecting to find fluff, in the manner of Robert Jordan, and I kept getting more action and plot instead. Quite a refreshing change. I can't wait for book six to come out now. Aagh. I've stumbled onto another fantasy series I'll have to wait on - just wonderful.
I also have finished downloading a few things and added them to my collection, namely Hale + Guu and Colorful. Colorful is... just... wow. It's so utterly absurd, I can't stop laughing while watching it. The basic premise is that it's a collection of funny things that happen to guys who try to catch a peek at the nicer bits of women - for instance, guys who walk into light poles and such looking at the hottie across the street. The way they did it, though is just really disturbing, and oddly hilarious at the same time. The expressions some of the guys make are priceless.
On the job front, like I said, I'm applying to Wizard publishing soon. I just need to write them a cover letter and fix up a slightly modified version of my resume. I decided not to apply to the language school NOVA after doing a bit more research into them, but places like JET and a few others are still an option for me, and I need to look into those over the next few days as well. I can re-apply to AEON in 6 months, if it comes to that, but I hope it doesn't.
Tonight, I've become inspired by finishing book five of The Runelords, so I got a lot of the things I've been meaning to do done. I realized I was catching the tail end of a little bit of depression, and I needed to do things to get myself out of this funk I've been in. Along with cleaning up my room, getting checks ready to send out, and a few other things that needed done, I decided I should catch up here as well.
AotW will most likely come tomorrow. Until then...
sorry, i once was also enticed to try to get a multi-banner up and running. of course, even after getting the script, i needed a php-ennabled server. i could only find one free one on the whole net - lycos in dutch. i don't read dutch, but i spent hours [to no avail] setting an account up, uploading, testing, modifying....
EDIT: well! i see they finally banned "****." [i think you know "towhat" i'm referring.]
wamyc--I have a website that can host everything. It is php enabled.
thanks, alcar. i was determined at the time to do it without asking for anyone's assistance for some reason. and right now i'm really happy with the one multilink banner. but thanks for the offer.
what do you guys think about people [frequently] changing their avatars/banners, even names? sometimes change is fun, but i find it nice to see at least the same avatar to help quickly identify a person and remember all the things you know about them.
I like changing my avatar every so often, and my rotating banner shows how much I like changing that. But for a while my avatar was of Alacar in different outfits and stuff so it wasn't so bad.
Aw, man, I heart the coffeehouse sometimes.
I'm off to school in like, ten minutes hopefully. My dad's seeing the doctor at the mo' and hopefully they won't be long so I won't be too late.

That's awesome that you didn't have to sit through the thing, eh? I've only gotten a notice for *possible* jury duty once in the mail, and nothing's come of it yet. Honestly, I hope it never does, because I don't think I'd ever find myself anything but bored in a courtroom.
I have suspicions it was something along those lines as well, but that's rather due to not having much else to go on. I didn't see anything wrong (well, very much wrong) with what was said.
In the second line, the word needs to be either "eternal" or "internal". I've never seen the spelling "Gia", either - usually, it's either "Gaea" or "Gaia". Other than that, and a few minor word arrangements, it's a fairly decent poem. It has a good mood to it.
@Alacar's job:

Oyasumi nasai (goodnight).

sorry, i once was also enticed to try to get a multi-banner up and running. of course, even after getting the script, i needed a php-ennabled server. i could only find one free one on the whole net - lycos in dutch. i don't read dutch, but i spent hours [to no avail] setting an account up, uploading, testing, modifying....
EDIT: well! i see they finally banned "****." [i think you know "towhat" i'm referring.]

thanks, alcar. i was determined at the time to do it without asking for anyone's assistance for some reason. and right now i'm really happy with the one multilink banner. but thanks for the offer.
what do you guys think about people [frequently] changing their avatars/banners, even names? sometimes change is fun, but i find it nice to see at least the same avatar to help quickly identify a person and remember all the things you know about them.
Anyways, off to bed with me.
Sakura: You look real real smexy, you know.
