I quit judging for my old TO, as of today. Since that was my only involvement with Magic, I'm essentially finished with the game.
On a good note, my roommate is enrolled in a German choir and they need a female contralto backup so maybe I'll do that instead. Bach Bach Bach! (Who am I kidding? I have ZERO voice training.)
Arguas dear, they kind of took over the place when I was gone for a few weeks and Alacar's been having a little too much fun with them.... at least they try to use the Dimir blankets... though it doesn't always work, and we end up with a few glimpses of stuff we really don't want to see...... (See Sakura's sig for example) -_- (I do wonder how PurpleD feels about the illicit use of the blankets tho :p)
Anyway, congratulations to Tanthalas for the 1600th post! to you sir!
Anyway, last night Ryan and I did webcam together..and it was rather interesting... I'm not entirely sure what to think about it... It was wonderful to see him face-to-face again, and finally be able to sign with him again, but at the same time it seemed a bit restricting and a little awkward... but... I'm not sure if that's just cuz its new or if its something to be concerned about... I don't know... just something I'm wondering about I guess....... oh well at least I'll talk to him later today about it...
I have a dentists appt this morning, so I really should get going.... Gotta leave by 9:15 and its 8:55 now... so gotta run Later folks!

@Pokemon: Seriously I haven't had much luck with Electric types aside from two: Luxray and Magneton. I think it might have been natures/IV's but still most of the ones I catch in that category stink.
<_< >_> I don't remember hiring any waitresses... *looks at Omna* do you remember hiring this psycho? Or the cohorts? RIGHT, we DID kind of hire Alacar... but that's not exactly one of the waitresses... right? I'm so confused...

Seriouslt though, its nice you got to see him again
So Alacar...shouldn't you be taking a cold shower or something? I swear, sometimes you're just as shameless as the teenagers around here, yo.
@Pikachu: Eh, I'm going to have to disagree with your friends there, Ryan. I've been playing around with a special edition Pikachu (with Surf and Volt Tackle) that came pre-equipped with a Light Ball. After EV-maxing its Special Attack and putting it in a level 100 battle, it was by far the weakest pokémon on my team. Being a mid-evolution, Pikachu's stats ceiling at a much lower number than a fuly evolved Raichu. The Light Ball only ensures that its Special Attack will reach, oh, maybe 200. That's a totally sucky number on level 100, and barely even serviceable on level 60.
Add to this the fact that Light Balls show up only on wild Pikachu with a 5% chance and you've got some pretty big odds stacked against you. If anyone's going to use a Pikachu I suggest ditching the Light Ball, evolving it into a Raichu, and giving it something like Choice Specs to hold.
Luxray is mediocre as electric pokémon go, but most electrics are mediocre in their own right so there isn't much point in changing it up. Especially if you've been using it for most of the game - its EVs will be very high and it probably has a great moveset, so I say stick with it until you can find yourself a Magnemite or an Elekid.

And you know that things are getting scary when the Dimir Blankets are being used to conceal job interviews. And apparently Photon's jacuzzi. And all while failing to conceal much smaller visual events. At this point, I'm declaring a need for a Cloak of Invisibility. On top of the Dimir blankets.

I'll have to present this to them for an opinion. Interestingly enough, they also claim that since Raichu is unaffected by Light Ball, and it's stats are actually not different (which is quite surprising to me) or less for that matter, that it is actually not at all beneficial to carry out the evolution to Raichu. I wonder if that has any validity at all

Well like I said, every pokémon has minimum and maximum stats they're allotted. Not evolving a Pikachu into a Raichu denies it about half it's maximum stat base, as well as new moves. Light Balls never make up for that, really. Case in point, I have a Pikachu and a Raichu, both EV-maxed for Special Attack. On level 100 my Pikachu has 156 SpAtt, and my Raichu has 306. It can really make a huge difference.

@Ryan: Wrong Sephiroth, of course. I was aiming for the unbearable biseinen composed of innumerable clichés and stereotypes. ^__^;;
That's funny ether, since I stopped with Crystal. After that, there were just too many damn pokemon to keep track of, and I had other stuff I'd rather do (like make real friends, and do my schoolwork, and that sort of thing).

Pikachu w/Light Ball DOES have more SP. Attack than Raichu, but that Special Attack is still pretty mediocre. Combine that with Pikachu's other stats (which are pretty low from an objective standpoint) and you end up with a brittle, mediocre Special Sweeper that has no options for hold items since it needs the Light Ball to even be viable.
Raichu isn't much better, honestly, but if I had to choose between the two I would rather have a Raichu that had slightly better stats all around and couldn't use the Light Ball than a Pikachu that can theoretically do enough damage to keep up with other high end special sweepers, but never gets to because it dies against everything.
This is something I expected of Alacar, to be honest. <_< Rawr innuendo rawr.
Stick around... That's all I have to say.
Pikachu has 156 SpAtt, and my Raichu has 316
That doesn't sound right... Raichu's Sp. Att limit is 306. Maybe you have those numbers confused, pup.

Oh please. We all know the only person here who has any real power of us is Mamelon. Ryan and Danica are great and all, but M-Lon has an official cult.
Anyway, I'm off to work in a bit. I have to work a weekend shift again, but July is half over, which means I am halfway to getting my schedule back to normal.
Also, in a bit of news, I am now officially a bigger nerd than even Alacar (but I think Mr. Stuff may still have me beat). In addition to replacing my MTG dorkyness with Pokemon dorkyness, Nai is making me a WPL for the new Pokemon WP. It's a good thing I already have a guy, or otherwise I would be pretty much marooned in the Virgin Islands for the rest of my life, if you know what I mean.
Also, it is good to see a little light conversation here again. I was beginning to think this place was turning into a secondary blog section on the site.

Yeah... I'm afraid for my Heracross... PLEASE, SPARE HIM!!! Take me, but spare the insect!! He's too young to die!!! (/drama)
Well, I'm guessing that competitively, there are better pokemon, even though Lapras is pretty cool and stuff (I like him anyhow).
Lapras is usually considered Borderline, so it isn't that bad. It's too inconsistent to compete in competitive events all the time, but with the right team and build it is hardly bad. There really aren't that many Pokemon that are downright awful, and those that are usually are only that way because they are intended to evolve.

Edit: OMG, I see Joyd lurking.
DAVE, I TREASURE YOUR FRIENDSHIP!!!!! [/teamamerica]
I thought that's why we all came here... <_< Or was it the food?
Yeah... I'm afraid for my Heracross... PLEASE, SPARE HIM!!! Take me, but spare the insect!! He's too young to die!!! (/drama)

Lapras is usually considered Borderline, so it isn't that bad. It's too inconsistent to compete in competitive events all the time, but with the right team and build it is hardly bad. There really aren't that many Pokemon that are downright awful, and those that are usually are only that way because they are intended to evolve.
