Good luck with the interview - you'll ace it I'm sure! And besides - money's money. I wish I had some.
Good luck with the tourney, I'm sure you'll make an awesome comeback. And congrats on RotW!
I couldn't agree more. I mean, I actually try to make interesting decks, but I'm always shocked by the lack of ingenuity of other players. Magic has lost a lot of creativity, it seems.
In other news: I've spent the entire day thus far, excluding the lie-in and food stops, trying to make a decent banner for the Weekly Banner and Avatar Contest. The best part of a day is far too long, so I just settled for the best looking of four banner//avvy sets. Whadd'ya think?
Oh, and listening to: Graffiti by Maximo Park.
'Fox.
Thanks shadow and mamelon for the boost in confidence in the standard tournament. Ohhh are you saying that i am not that creative at making casual decks shadow? Im just kidding im sure you do and you make some pretty interesting decks as well.
Anyway im going to get ready for work in a few have a great day everyone and im so happy tommorrow i have off lol. Ill probably play some dragon quest 7 when i get back from work. See you all soon! *hugs and blows kisses*
Not at all, Kev. See, I haven't played you before (to my recollection), so I've no idea how your decks play! Mostly I'm complaining about the people I run into randomly online.
'Fox.
Yeah i know i was only kidding with you. Well we played a couple of times i was using my green deck with a bunch of big casting cost creatures with mana acceration and you were playing with your blood clock those were pretty fun games.
Here is a pretty cool casual combo: unholy grotto with heir to blackblade.

Naw, makes no difference. Every single game I play which involves dice, I never roll well. I think I've won about 3 dice-offs to decide who plays or draws in the last 3 years, I can't ever land on the middle square in Trivial Pursuit, and I have a habit of getting no higher than a 10 when I roll a d20 on here. The dice gods have marked my card a long while ago.
Marked cards? See, now you are just getting confused. The dice gods don't mark your card, that would be the card gods, or at least the MWS Shuffler Pantheon.
Meanwhile, Josh has disgusting luck. He's a total dice Jesus. He routinely rolls 17s, 18s, and higher. He critical hits whenever it counts and tends to roll 20s for stats like no one's business. One game I DMed, he started out with 3 18s and a 20 in his stats, and I had to go in and hit him with a nerf bat for the sake of balance. Meanwhile, my brother has your dice luck, which he tries to remedy through a combination of swearing, throwing things, superstition, and Hermetic magic.

Me? I tend to roll right down the middle. I never know what my luck will do. It's sort of a benign luck, neither good nor bad. Which is usually bad because I don't know how to counteract it.
Anyway, hello Coffeehouse! I woke up really early this morning to go on base with my sister. Ran some errands and such.
Don't worry, Tanth; Will will protect Aimee. He's a gentleman
My dice luck is pretty neutral....except in one, specific circumstance:
If you play Risk with me, don't ever let me have Japan. I will put two armies in Japan and take down opposing armies of 10-15. When defending Japan I have the dice luck of an Irish psychic. (Or William H. Macy's character at the end of "The Cooler".) Japan is my impregnable stronghold.

The Golden Rule of forums: If you're going to be rude, be right. If you might be wrong, be polite.
Bad : Due to huge storm, our temperature had dropped to close to freezing all week. This sux when you have no electricity.
Good : I used some of my credit at the card store to play a draft, took second, and since we were playing for picks of the rares...I walked away with a Pact of Negation which I sold so I could afford food.
Bad : I must have eaten something I had misjudged whether it had gone bad or not. That combined with the temperature drop and lack of food overall has made me horribly ill and weak.
Good : My friend Andrew (he runs the card shop) let me stay at his place last night because it was so cold.
Good : I got my Power back (I think). It is payday, and I got up early and went to the power building. It cost me $450 up front. They still refused to let me start a new account. $700 paycheck, -$450 for Hydro, -$135 deposit for Water.
Bad : If I don't pay the rest of bill by next Friday, I am out of power again.
EDIT: Holy crap. This one guy who likes me on IMVU just offered to pay the rest of my bill O_O Normally I'd say no, but I am so desperate. I also kinda like him, he is a sweet heart.

So things are on the uptick now? I hope so. Having no electricity blows - I know how that works from past experience. Thankfully, I've never gone too long without it.
@Dice matters: I know the feeling Tanth. I've now rolled five consecutive two's at the start of Magic matches. And two of those were with real die. I don't have much luck when it comes to rolling any die ever.

Honestly, as a member of all three "psychographics" I have to say the lack of creativity is partly due to the fact that I'm just not finding as many interesting cards as I used to. Spellweaver Volute seems cool on the outside but it costs five freaking mana. When you have to match up against a lot of two and three mana spells five better be gamebreaking without spending much more mana.
On the other hand, I do wanna make a Delay/Scepter deck to abuse Flashback spells... With Clockspinning and stuff like that it might actually be fun. But that's more a rules-based deck than it is an actual card-based deck.
On a totally unrelated note, I thought this was pretty cool.

However, the program is being decommissioned and redesigned from the ground up to comply with new Canadian imaging technology cert standards. So my original start date of Sept 2007 has been pushed back...indefinitely. A year, two years, five years. I won't even know how long until Oct-Dec this year.
So what to do? I can get my money back, or I can suck it up and say YES to up to five years waiting around for a guaranteed slot. Meaning, I have to get gainful employment here now. Not in canada, but HERE. :/ (Here could however mean going back to Minnesota...<3)

Snoop.. I would suggest accepting, but also talking to them and letting them know that you do need to put food on the table, so you'll probably have to get a temporary job (or keep the one you're currently in) until they have a more tenuous grasp of when you can begin your career.
Sakura, I'm glad you have your money sorted. I'm also very sorry for delaying my payment to you for what I owe. It's all dependent on when my mom and sister pay me back first.
Photon, Fish Lake: Girls, girls, you're both pretty.
Because people in your town are just like people in every town everywhere...
That lessens my irritation in no way whatsoever. Actually, though, in our part of the state this town has developed a reputation for being particularly unneighborly.
By the way, I got around to reading your article on FS (although I guess the official abbreviation is FUT?). It was interesting, and I agreed with a good portion of it. Comments like those made on Lucent Liminid made me rethink things a bit. That card in particular has bugged me because it seems to be particularly bland, but I had not considered that it might just be an allusion to a future where other (more effective) enchantment creatures not only existed but mattered.

I would certainly hope they would not expect her to sit around for however long it takes and not work. That would be the only reason I would see to decline.
That "girls, girls" line of yours is my least favorite joke you make, Alacar.

I have no concerns with what you owe me sweety. You told me it would be at least a month and it has been conciderably less than that. besides, worrying about money friends owe you quickly means less friends...and in friendship...money is the least of my concerns.
I am home, I have power, and surprisingly it only took 3 seconds for my computer to power on. The power supply is horrid...last time it lost power, it powerred on a full hour after I pressed the button.
And more to show this is shaping out to be a good end to the week. i spotted a garage sale on the way home...where I talked them down to $2...on a stack of comics (like 30 of them) Half are old school tranfsormers including the Prime ressurection issue, the complete run of head masters and the movie. Also some vintage stuff including a vintage humor/pinup mag. Also got a copy of Paradise Lost, and a Battle Beast (in exclelent shape too)

Yeah.. Wakewalking has been down.. it's in ownership under my brother-in-law.. I need to get him to get it back up so I can move everything over to TradewindCove.com..
Sorry about the banner--I've had to switch to my single Jhoira banner.
Oh, Wessel's here. Hi, I guess. Although I thought you quit the site...?
@Alacar: The "girls girls" thing does kind of get on my nerves. Only because, and you might not realize it, it's a little offensive. Just a little, though. Not snapping at your or anything, just saying =)
I feel good today. My Ps2's been stubborn lately, showing its age by refusing to play a lot of Ps1 games (Koudelka...*cry*), but I tried a couple of them today, including the next Underdog whenever-the-hell I'm gonna get to that, and they worked. Which means I'll be playing me some DQ7 some time in the near future ^___^;;
Plus, Mandala's really moving along and it seems like everyone's enjoying themselves. I don't usually blow my own horn so much, but I really love this campaign idea and I hope it gets more popular over time. Meanwhile, just this one battle in Wasted City before there's a decision to be made...not sure I'm going to like how it turns out, but whatever really.

Personally, I don't think it is that offensive. I call people female names all the time, and that practice has apparently been picked up by a lot of people ever since Cynthia came to town.
Mandala is really exciting for me, I am really enjoying getting to play with Shah and PB and Yukora, and it has really started to respark my interest in gaming again- something I sorely needed after the Den wankfest. Also, Fatime is just a breath of fresh air for me right now. I wish I were an unflappably capable harem girl sometimes.
Well, I decided since I managed to get out earlier today to pick up Mamelon that I will just park in the street instead... which irks me since I basically am giving up my own garage to a couple of my neighbor's visitors against my consent, but I would rather just walk the extra couple of yards than cause a complicated scene. Still...

[16:23] Alacar Leoricar: maybe if you do it'll make the porn more meaningful
Mono green has a pretty good chance against most decks. I think project X can be an uphill battle, due to all the lifegain and resiliant blockers, but I think overall it's got a fighting chance against any deck, and isn't as reliant on the sideboard as some other decks are. Mabey you should go all out to fight narcobridge. Use 4 leylines and some crypts too. I think leyline is a stronger answer to the problem, but redundancy doesn't hurt.
Now here's an MGA fan!. Thats the spirit folks, let the MGA soul get into flesh and bone. Anyway I think you should visit the MGA thread and post something there! ^^
Well i just wanted to drop by and i am going to play all 7 rounds in the standard tournament despite of me losing another round but hopefuly i can pull through though. I dont think 4 tormod's crypts will be enough to stop narcodredge decks though and i shouldve added more draw and put draw in the main deck like ohran vipers and harmonize but thats okay.
Its okay Kev. Just have fun, like you always do. Now if they will just see your point then I hope people will now understand why I value Ohran VIper so much. Many people at the MGA thread seems to disregard Ohran Viper, but still Im higly respected in the thread that they neglect to comment about it. ANyway I have posted why the viper is a powerful card many times and I think I have really proved it, so even if they didnt want to use it, they still value my comments and suggestions in the thread. Maybe because I have contributed much there..sort of..^_^
Yeah i wish i could go all out at fighting against narcobridge but unfortunelty i can't change my deck because of the rules. Thats what i get for not playtesting against narcodredge which i should of somewhat since narco is a deck to beat in standard. Oh well my knowledge of type 2 is pretty lacking anyway. I have decided to play all 7 rounds though just to give some good insight to hunter whose playing with mono green aggro.
Ahhw..thanks KEv. well anyway against Narco-Polo, I sb 4 tormods crypt, I also have Gbreakers MD, and at some point, gaea's blessing seemed effective somehow, kind of..But anyway, MGA still has vulnerabilities after all.
hehe blushes thanks mamelon. I wish mono green aggro had more unblockable creatures that actually are immune to darkblast and also so it can dodge stinkweed imp which is the main reason why i couldnt keep up in the matchup. I got him down to 1 life during game 2 with the help of tormod's crypts but it wasnt enough. I want to play against the same deck i did in the next round though because its possible i was off in timing using the 2nd tormod's crypt if i did that then i probably couldve won. But it was the very first time i actually played against narcodredge so thats probably why I bet a more experienced green aggro player like hunter probably would win that matchup. I believe its all about the timing when using the tormod's crypts against narcodredge.
If your using MGH, at about turn 6, when I play Timbermare, usually its game over for the opponent since so many banging haste critters come next. Especially when the Forcemage is on setup. Maybe you should try that sometime. I thanks Trainswalker09 at the MGA thread for that build. Its a very sick build, so fast, and so many damage..Its overkill.
I see there's been a great deal of members who I've never seen before! Hello everyone! To all who don't know me, I'm Wessel, I'm an 18-year old Dutch guy living in a city just north of Amsterdam. I used to play Magic, that's why I've registered here on MTGS, but I haven't touched a magic card since Dissension came out. (Okay, that's a lie, 'cause I've touched a magic card named Wrath of God two weeks ago to sell it to a friend of mine for €20, but next to that one, not a single magic card).
So, is there anyone who could update me on what happened in both in the Magic world the past half year and in the Magic Coffeehouse?
Hi wessel. Im hunter44, 19 years old from the Philippines. Monogreen Aggro fan and deckbuilder.^_^
Too true, AoK was already a mod. She just got upgraded.
AoK = Avatar of Kokusho, right?
Anyway I just got second place in FNM, just two packs and all I got is crap..Geez. Except for this Oriss and Jhoira, I think Ill keep this. Nice women art..^_^
I only lost once, and again, to my friend. Damn that Solar Flare. Mdecked teferi's moat and Prahv..grr
*Currently listenin to: Fra Lippo Lippi - Beauty and Madness*
Maybe i shouldve played a mono green deck with creatures that had trample i bet i would kick so much narco butt because they will just be blocking with their stinkweed imps. Creatures without trample will be hard to get through a dredging imp though. I also definetly think mono green aggro definetly needs draw considering you can draw more threats to win games that you shouldn't have.
By the way i have great news to share with all of you i have a pretty good chance to get promoted to being a checker at the grocery store i work at. The senior supervisor wants me to keep talking to her about it and im so happy to hear that from her before i left work today.

Also got a copy of Paradise Lost, and a Battle Beast (in exclelent shape too)
@Ala-babes : Is something wrong with Wakewalking? Neither of my banners work. Havn't in about a week.
Sorry about the banner--I've had to switch to my single Jhoira banner.

@Alacar: The "girls girls" thing does kind of get on my nerves. Only because, and you might not realize it, it's a little offensive. Just a little, though. Not snapping at your or anything, just saying =)
I feel good today. My Ps2's been stubborn lately, showing its age by refusing to play a lot of Ps1 games (Koudelka...*cry*), but I tried a couple of them today, including the next Underdog whenever-the-hell I'm gonna get to that, and they worked. Which means I'll be playing me some DQ7 some time in the near future ^___^;;
Ah-hem.:-/
I'm glad to see you back, Wessel. It's always nice to see a familiar face return.
Still...
Now here's an MGA fan!. Thats the spirit folks, let the MGA soul get into flesh and bone. Anyway I think you should visit the MGA thread and post something there! ^^
Maybe because I have contributed much there..sort of..^_^
Ahhw..thanks KEv. well anyway against Narco-Polo, I sb 4 tormods crypt, I also have Gbreakers MD, and at some point, gaea's blessing seemed effective somehow, kind of..But anyway, MGA still has vulnerabilities after all.
Good one.
