Hello everyone. It's 11:00pm here, and it's been about two hours since I arrived back home from my trip to Blennerhassett Island. Today was one of the most wonderful days I've had in months. The weather was gorgeous, and most importantly, I spent the day having fun with my family, outside and out of the house. I've needed a day like this in a bad way for a while now, and I'm glad to have had it.
I have pictures - LOTS of pictures! - and I will share them when I get the chance, which will most likely be tomorrow after work. We took a riverboat down the Ohio river to get to the island, and saw a multitude of wild creatures along the way. The grove of black walnut trees was gorgeous, as was the mansion. We took a horse-drawn wagon ride around the island, and the atmosphere was just amazing. It was almost a shame we had to leave. Afterwards we ate at Texas Roadhouse, and I had some really great grilled shrimp skewers before we headed home. All in all, as I said, a truly wonderful day.
Just to let you guys know, I decided to take a break from Salvation, other than FCC, for the next 3 weeks or so, until my school work and stuff slows down. Don't worry, it's not you guys, I just really need to concentrate on school right now. I hope you all have a great next few weeks.
The short version is the card doesn't just let you flash a creature like Teferi, it let's you put a creature directly into play and then sacrifice it if you don't pay for it. See the problem now?
Worst part is, you can pull this off turn 1 before your opponent can do a thing, with a Lotus Petal and a land.
FLASH - Choose a creature card in your hand. You may pay its mana cost reduced by up to {2}. If you do, put that card into play. If you don't, put that card into your graveyard.
I didnt see any rule in this card that says if you dont, put that card into play then put it into your graveyard. Why and How will the Hulk come into play?? Flash didnt state that...It stated that it will only come into play if you pay its mana cost reduced by 2, and didnt say that if you didnt pay it that it will come into play then put it into the graveyard.Sorry for being a type1 noob but as I read flash it puzzled me..

@ Hunter: The oracle wording on magiccards.info is incorrect (or was at least) and you should check the gatherer.wizards.com text which is correct.
Ok I saw it already, it was once correct and functions differently but now that its oracle wording is fixed then players saw its great synergy with Protean Hulk especially with that super artifacts from affinity.
Today I begin work on a new website for our old store. I hope the guy comes through with his promise of upgrading the store's internet connection so he can manage his online inventory. So far he has dialup which is not good for uploading pictures of stock items.

as for reinforced gender identity - my parents were extremely strict in pressing their idea of gendere identity on me as a child - to the extent of beatings if I didn't fulfil the role that my father wanted for me - I hated them for so long. That is awful. If you ever need someone to talk to hun, I am here. My dad was moderately strict as well. While I got away with being somewhat effeminate, little things he said tended to cut deeply and reinforce that me being me was wrong.
I was raised with some kind of strict gender identity in mind, myself. Only from certain parental directions, though. My mother didn't seem to care much either way. My father, though, didn't want a plant in my room when I was an infant because it would "make me gay." I used to relaly enjoy some toys when I was a child that were pretty much girl toys - My Little Pony and othersuch things. I got a lot of flack from schoolmates and my stepdad for it, but there were others who weren't so perturbed.
Funny thing is that although I'm a homosexual male, I'm straighter-acting than a lot of the straight guys I know. I don't think anyone I know enjoys flexing their masculinity muscles half as much as I do. Call it an insecurity; I call it having a lot of fun with my gender =)
Maybe as a result of my upbringing or the way I view people as an adult, I'm stricter with my definitions of gender and gender roles than a lot of my friends. Not to say I discriminate or don't understand other people whose situations are different - quite the opposite, in fact.
In other news, Broken Mandala is up and running. I can already tell this group is going to be dyamite, so I'm really looking forward to seeing this plot unfold.

@ Hunter, I advise going with mono green aggro. Sulfur Elemental is being played by many decks now, and it prevents martyr from activating. Sure, you can eventually kill it, but most decks running sulfur elemental dont need long to deal 20 damage or to armageddon all lands. If it wasn't for the elemental, I would go with snow white, but it's presence is just too much I'm afrade.
@hunter: if i ever use any deck for regionals this year ill probably play with mono green aggro again lol with a more thought out sideboard of course. I really believe that mono green can get far in regionals if its piloted by the right player. Also goodluck to you hunter there may the force be with you.

@shink: if i ever was to play at gp columbus ill probably play with 4 color landstill lets me use leyline of the void, meddling mage, and stifle for the win against hulk flash. Plus it has a pretty reliable win condition in the form of faerie conclaves, mishra's factories, and nantuko monasteries.

Thats great to hear that bloody minded and i admire those people that had such hard times but they stuck to it and now they are doing really well. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I wouldn't be suprised if it was in X (putting it in the standard pool with hulk), then banned it if a degenerate deck develops from it. But only after it boosts sales, and then boosts sales again after its banning.
You fetch the Guide and the Feeder. Guide returns Hulk. Sac Hulk to Feeder for Kiki. Tap kiki to copy guide, while on stack, sac kiki. Use guide token to return Kiki, repeat. There is other utility you can get which works out the same but allows you to dodge removal.

There is nothing wrong with it if he is happy with whom he is and doesn't hurt anyone. We all overcompensate a little, it is a normal thing.
