I'm not having a great day. All this morning, while I was sleeping (and I really needed the sleep), my phone was ringing and ringing. People kept wakeing me up and I was too delerious to turn off the ringer. The end result is that I simply didn't get out of bed untill around 4 pm, and we have a big band practice tomorow morning, first one since our bass player moved a city away. Then followed by some magic playing, prepairing for regionals. And then we are having tabletop D&D that night. All this wrapped up with a 1 hour drive both ways.
Head is splitting...
I need a hottub.
Edit: Thanks for the packs Kraj. I just noticed them.
Me, I'm probably going to visiting relatives in WV tomorrow, unless my parents cancel the trip. That, and getting a sugar high off of Easter candy.
Right now, though, I think I need some headache medicine myself. I'm watching a show where there are two talking, beer-drinking dogs, and a talking rice cake that eats its own poo... because it's made out of rice, naturally. Why I do these things to myself, I don't know.
Hey, hello there Rite. Welcome to the Coffeehouse. If you want to know more about everyone, check out the front page, where you can find pictures of us in the "User Cards" section of the second post, and info about us in the "Regular of the Week" section.
As for an avatar or sig, check the section of the forums that has the "artwork" and other threads in it. There is a forum there called the "avatar/sig shop" forum. Place a request in one of the threads there, and someone will be happy to make one for you, as long as you meet their shop requirements (some require you to have at least 25 or 50 posts).
@alacar: Are you doing alright my friend? I havent seen you on alacar for a couple of days i hope your doing okay. I will be here if you ever want to talk about anything thats if you want to though. *hugs*
@mamelon: Well i hope everything is going well for you now. My parents are from china by the way they were both born and raised there they lived a pretty tough lives though so they basically had to work really hard to earn a decent living as of now they are doing really well obviously. did your friend actually went to china mamelon or no? I remember you told me that she didnt. Well see you soon mamelon! *hugs*
@Rite: welcome to the coffeehouse! Its always great to see other mtgs members in here and your always welcome to drop a message or even become a regular in fact if you really want to that is.
Well i just got back from work like a couple of hours ago and im swamped. Ill be on aol messenger tonight if anyone wants to talk and i dont have work tommorrow and happy easter everyone! Well see you all soon! *hugs and blows kisses to everyone*
Hey everyone. Ugh....I'm feeling really frustrated right now. If you remember a a few weeks ago, I had made a mistake at work that cost them money. They were going to fire me over it. But, they had a position open somewhere else in the store. I said I'd take it, as to still have a job.
I had off plenty of days before that and I was supposed to check this Friday to see what my hours were going to be. So, I'm running all around trying to figure this stuff out. I finally found out what my hours are going to be. And that I'm going to be working in the bakery.
I think its just a culmination of being used to not working for a while, frustration in finding all this out, and poor performance in the PCL. I don't know, I just feel like crap right now. Maybe some dinner will cheer me up some.
Aww, don't feel too bad. Everyone makes mistakes. It's part of life. Hope that dinner does indeed cheer you up.
This short animated film collection I got is pretty nifty. Right now I'm watching a half-hour short about the shinsegumi, the shogunate's band of samurai officers during Japan's Meiji restoration.
Evening for most of ya. Most of the chat has been PCL so still not much to comment.
Buzz I hope you get feeling better. It seems like there is some gloom surrounding you, but it should get better. Hang in there man.
Thanks for noticing the bear Mams. I thought it was really cute when someone sent it to me.
Also, I was wondering if anyone was up for some chat tonight? I know there aren't many people viewing, but it would be kind of cool anyway. I know I'll be up for several more hours and willing to set up the chat room. I have yahoo (Lippsbear87), msn(CrazyLilRocka@gmail.com), and AIM(Lipps87). Whichever service is fine for me. Just message me or something, but please let me know who you are. Thanks!!
I was thinking about adding counterbalance and diving tops with thirst of knowledges in my uw control deck for precon league. Although im not sure how effective it will be against higher mana curve decks in the league. Although the combo is really good against aggro decks since their manacurve is pretty low for me to make full use of the top and counterbalance combo.
All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
But the rainbow is an image of hope for many reasons, as it is a brilliant sight coming out of oftimes dismal weather.
And no, I didn't wake up this early for Easter, I just got back from a videogame party where we played Mario Party, Super Smash Brothers Melee, and Wii bowling.. it was fun Some of the other people played Mario Power Tennis...
I'm exhausted.. I'm so glad I decided against going to that Easter party that some people I know were having because it was most likely going to be a party where people try to convince you to join in their 'business venture'... which I really don't feel like doing on my Easter.. sure it might be fun, but most likely I would feel on guard all day .. which is a shame because I would like to go to an Easter party
Last year on Easter, I joined Salvation, as a 5 month anniversary gift to Ryan... that will be next Sunday I do believe.. *my 1 yr anniversary of joining Salvation* and then 4 days later, was the birth of the Magic CoffeeHouse!
Sorry I haven't been posting much.. have a lot on my mind, and schoolwork, plus other things (health stuff notably :-/) are eating me up... Speaking of which, I go in for my second chiropractor appointment on Monday at 10:15 am.. My first one went well.... I've been walking a lot, as he told me to.. but as a result my hip hurts a bit more... It was killing me earlier tonight, but now it seems to have abated a bit since I took some Advil before taking a nap at the party while waiting for my ride..
Anyway... tomorrow Ryan gets back and is coming over so we can spend a bit of the last part of Easter together.. that will at least be nice.. I just really hope things go well............................ I need to clean up the room as well, before he comes so that we can hang out and such... I really hope that things go well.... I don't want anything to screw up......................
Dreia and anyone else who is interested in a CoffeeHouse chat, I would definitely love to do this today, if you all are free.. I know the majority of you are probably (quite understandably!) going to be spending time w/ your families, but speak up if you're not doing much of anything (like me) so that we can maybe pull something together for a nice 'party' on Easter for those of us (again, like me) craving it
I am so happy that Easter is finally here, I absolutely hate the Lenten season. Not so much for the sacrificing, but for the somber feeling every time I step foot into a church.
But, I just got a new suit, and I plan to wear it to today's mass. I am a country kinda guy, so when I get dressed up, I tend to go all out.
I've applied to Best Buy, and Circuit City, because need another source of income. Wish me luck.
I apologize for not posting here as much as I used to, and for losing track of all the goings-on here. I've been dealing with my sister's disorder, and that's been quite the leech on my time. I ask for your prayers for her. She could really use them.
Last night I had an Apples to Apples party and it was really something hilarious. My mom got a little mad though; ten people howling in the basement at one A.M., what mom wouldn't get mad right?
@Omana: I'm glad that the chiropractor is going wel;. Don't worry about your hip all that much, chiropractors tend to know what they are doing and have a lot of pre-mediatated plans, even after your first visit. I will be around today if you want to talk. The ashkanazie in me keeps me from celebrating Easter.
Tried to call my Mom last night several times to wish her a happy Easter and nobody was picking up at her end. She said she was going out for last minute shopping yesterday afternoon and seems to have never returned. Trouble is, she's an old lady and has diabetes and heart troubles. I worry about her. It's too early to call her this morning as she is on the West Coast and it's barely 8am there.
I don't know the phone numbers of any of her friends, or her landlady, so I have no way of physically checking on her if something were to happen and she couldn't come to the phone. I hope she just went to late mass last night and slept in.
Here's hoping everyone else is having a good holiday weekend with their families and friends.
I overslept, and waking up over a cup of coffee, listening to this fantastic UK band, the Klaxons, while trying to get psyched up for band practice.
The Coffeehouse needs a music exchange system.
Maybe we should start one. Make a Last.fm for the Coffeehouse and just have everyone logged on together. Speaking of music sharing and the interweb, Pandora Radio is a brilliant website. I suggest everyone check it out. Also Post #2900 for me! So close to the big 3!
Anyone who didn't get a special pack for April may take 1 rare, 2 uncommons, and 4 commons of their choice. Don't wait for me.
Kraj, thanks for the packs.
I've been busy all weekend. Sorry if I've been making people worry.
Happy Easter everyone.
I hope you're okay, Alacar.
I'll go ahead and put up a wants list for someone else to use to make a special pack.
It's a good thing your mother is okay, Starr.

@mamelon: *blushes hehe you called me kevie again yeah anything with scry can make counterbalance pretty good however i think the best card to use with counterbalance is in fact diving top since it can be used consistently and continuously. However ill take your suggestion into consideration though reason being to add more consistency to the combo and your a talented blue player mamelon. I hope your having a good weekend and have a good day at work tommorrow! *hugs*
@sharahazad: Have a good day today! Well i hope you will enjoy your band practice even on lack of sleep but anyhow have a great easter and take care!
@alacar: im glad your doing okay alacar. Yeah you do seem pretty busy nowadays as well but i wish you a good week next week.
@snoop: Im glad your mother is doing alright as well and goodluck to you in your volunteer work and best wishes to you to be successful in what you want to accomplish in life.
Well i probably won't do legacy of the week this week I had a pretty busy week ive worked 5 days in a row so i am just going to relax but ill be on aol if anyone wants to chat with me though. I probably will do legacy of the week next week ill try to anyway. See you all soon! *hugs and blows kisses* Happy easter and best wishes to you all!
Well, looks like the coffeehouse is as frivolous as always. Good to hear.
For anyone who cares that I haven't posted in a good while, it is this. I got off track of posting on ANY forum because our school had the annual musical. I was in the pit orchestra, playing my good ol' bass, of course. We had practice every day after school, and I, of course, couldn't post in the morning. Then after that, I've had countless SAT prep classes, taking up most of my time. I also tried out for GHP (Governor's Honors Program) in Georgia for bass playing.
For those who don't know what GHP is, it's a six week summer camp where people go through two auditions with interviews in a certain subject they want to specialize in. During the six weeks, the people selected for the camp learn about what they came there for, and become better in what they want to do for a living. It also looks MIII-HI-HI-HI-HIIIGHTY FINE on a college transcript.
That said, after trying out BOTH TIMES for strings - bass,...
....I GOT IN!!!!!!! It's really amazing to me, even, because only two bassists in the whole state get in, and I'd almost assured myself that I wouldn't get in since my chances were so low. But now, I'll be out for six weeks in the summer playin' the bass 24/7. Practically heaven for me. This experience may also help me get into my long admired Curtis Institute for Music, which I've had my eye on for so long.
That said, I would again like to apologize to everyone who cares for my long absence, and hope I can make it up slowly throughout the rest of the year.
And as far as catching up goes...if you think I'm gonna reread 3,000+ posts, forget it. Sorry, but it would probably take days to read over it all.
To any new members, I'd like to retain my reputation by saying, WELCOME TO DA HOUSE!!!!!!!!! Hope you enjoy your stay. Don't mind my shoutin' either.
