Just for grins, I've cobbled together a meager deck for FNM and I thought I'd see what ya'll thought of it if you're interested in taking a peak. (I suck, so I need all the help I can get.)
Last time, in my three rounds I played against Dralnu, Saprolings, and Angels. I don't know what else to expect, so I'm preparing to run into those again.
Against Dralnu, Vitu-Ghazi is very effective as are the fast creatures and the Scarab (I'll just keep dredging till he runs out of counters). Sudden Death takes care of Teferi and a resolved Crypt should seal a win.
Against Saprolings, I've got beefier threats, plenty of removal for the Guildmages and Hermits, Punishment as a 1-sided Wrath, and lifegain to buy some time.
Angels should be my easiest matchup, with plenty of removal, and lifegain to protect against Demonfire. Teneb is a delicious answer to recurring Firemanes, as is Crime.
The removal should be able to monogreen aggro, and the beef + lifegain should give me a decent matchup against Boros. I'm pretty sure the deck basically scoops against Dragonstorm unless I get an insanely good draw.
Any thoughts, comments, suggestions? The most helpful feedback probably would be what the best things to sideboard out in the various matchups are. Note: I only own 2 Hierarchs, 2 Crypts, and one of each Shockland.

@Kevin: Congrats on landing the job! Hope you enjoy it!
@Kraj: It looks MOSTLY good. Only two things irk me. 1) Your deck seems to be all about very efficiently big creatures and Blind Hunter just doesn't fit that mold to me. It does give you direct damage of sorts and life-gain plus a flying creature but I almost wanna say Silhana Ledgewalker would be better in this slot because of its untargetability by your opponents and it still has a decent amount of evasion. Also having the Cloaks in your deck help me with that decision between the two.
The other would be the one Pendlehaven. You have only four copies of creatures that are 1/1 mainboard so first game it seems like its gonna be real useless except to destroy your opponents (which can in fact be an OK thing but not getting everything you can out of it). I'd shove it in the side with the Vitu-Ghazi. What you put in its place is coming up blank with me, tho... Maybe 1 Orzhova, Church of Deals main?
I agree with Crimson on the Ledgewalker, especially with Moldervine. That combo just wins games, seriously. Outside of mass removal, nothing really touches it.
Hey Crimson, did you get the Japanese translation of Paradox I posted the other day. Did it help?
Excellent suggestions, CA. Thanks! The Ledgewalkers definitely are a better fit with the main-deck Cloaks. The Pendelhaven is basically there simply as a strictly better option than a fourth Forest, but in my test hands my mana has been running surprisingly smoothly so I think I can live without it and Orzhova is a nice fit.

Oh gosh, I'm really tired... this week's been faaaar too long and stressful. Fortunately today's test went pretty well for me... but then something pretty annoying happened: after the test, I had to wait for classes for two hours until 4 pm, in which I had really nothing to do except some window-shopping and getting something warm to eat (I live too far away to get home during such breaks) but later somehow the teachers haven't turned up. We were all left pretty dumbfounded, as we don't remember such a thing happening before at our university... we don't know if the teachers simply forgot they had classes to do, or if they were unable to arrive (though I suspect in such a case the might have called the school to notify us)...
The better news is that finally the 10th Evangelion manga volume arrived at my house. Now we don't need some random dojinshi to see Kaworu make out with Shinji, it's all in the official version! :rofl:But apart from that, the volume's a little disappointing, though, because there was little that we couldn't see on the TV before, even to the point of dialogues seeming very similar.
Kraj, I'm in love with your card! I'd so much like to have a pleasant tête-à-tête with it so we could get to know each other better!
Also, I hope that Maro has seen it, and now is angry at himself that he doesn't now have such a great designer among the R&D.
Um, would it be too bold of me to ask what medicine are you taking?
And I believe I haven't told you yet how much I love your new avvy. Is it a particular plant, or just some random Apiaceae family member?

Also the avy is Queen Anne's Lace or wild carrot. My gaming league has assigned me to play the British for this months trials and the computer automatically chose Queen Anne as my monarch. I coulda put a big tobaccy leaf up there because Sir Walter Raleigh was my explorer, but I've since customized it to Johnny Rotten and also dislike anything to do with smoking, or colonialism for that matter.
Welp, was about to complain to ebay about a box of Planar Chaos that went missing, but today just after I got done with lunch I heard a knock, and it was the postman, with A VERY DELAYED BOX OF CARDS so I'm expecting drafters over any minute now. So, maybe Postal Bad Mojo Season is finally over? I hope so :S

Yup I did get it. I decided to go with Mr. Stuff's translation tho not because your's wasn't really right (because in fact it was right) but because that form of the word fit better with the card. I mean Gyakusetsu, the Divided just rolls off the tongue better than Jikomujun, the Divided in my opinion. Names of cards can be fickle like that. Hopefully, I didn't mess it up too badly however.

Ok, so for the set my friends and I are making (pay attention FL, you're drawing some of these. ;)) we've made a race I'm almost certain haven't been used in any plane before. Insectoids. Bug people. Anywho, it spawned off a card Flynn wanted me to make, but the problem is I can't think of a proper mana cost. Help?

Other than the Nantuko, who were a major green race in one block, present in another, and cameo in TS, yeah, there's never been bug people.

The card is right for uncommon, but the heavy colored activation cost is probably wrong, since your opponant is unlikely to be able to activate it with that cost.
The card's mana cost depends on how heavily you want to push the effect. It could cost probably anything between W and 2WW. If you leave the colored mana symbols in the activated ability, it should cost more, since it will frequently be much more one-sided.

But the nantuko are their own race that don't really resemble any bugs of real life. The insectoids cover humanoid versions of all insects.

Hello again, all. Didn't have time to read back since I'm on break, but I promise I will tomorrow. Speaking of which, tomorrow's my best time to play PL games, so contact me if tomorrow if you'd like to play a game.
Sooooo.... Did I mention I'm on break? As in, I'm going back to work for two more hours? And I've already been there since 8AM!?! Yeah, it's a 13 hour day for me.:( Had to make up the time I missed being sick. The good news is that I'll only have to work 2 hours tomorrow (what's supposed to be my day off). That, and I'm feeling much better today. So if I make through this hellish day, I think tomorrow shouldn't be too bad.
Allright. Back to work for me. Only 2 hours left. I'm not working tomorrow until around 5, so I'll have almost the whole day off. I'll check back in in the morning.
KK - It seems weird and backwards that the effect is better if you sacrifice a cheaper creature. It's just really not something I'd expect to see on a card.

Well, is it weird in a good way or a bad way?
I think its fair and powerful. You'll notice that its also not useful to sacrifice itself to its ability very often.

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.
Good evening, Coffeefolks. I hope everyone had a good day today. I managed to get an extension from my Spanish teacher for my presentation, thus encouraging my procrastination even more :-/. But I really have to work on it this weekend, or I will fail the project.
@Kevin: CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is great. I'm so glad you finally found a job and you can start earning money again.
@Alacar: Wait, are you talking to me about the art of the card? If so, I'm not really sure about your advice. I really want some kind of thing showing a bunch of elemental-type fire things raining from the sky. That would be the ideal, I think.
@KK: Hmm, it is an interesting idea. Very good creativity, unlike most people so far in the round, I think, but I don't really understand the flavor at all. Why would a Malevolent Angel like sacrificing small dudes? The name just doesn't make sense with the flavor text and ability to me.
I mean weird in a not neccesarily good way. Yes, it's seldom useful to sacrifice it to itself, it just seems odd that the greater your investment in the sacrificed creature was, the worse your return is with the ability. The best thing to sacrifice is a token creature, something that typically had very little investment in its creation.
