FLCL: Enjoying it, got to episode 4 before I had to stop for the morning and get some sleep in.
I just finished that myself. I can't believe I hadn't seen it before but I hadn't. I wish I saw it sooner tho. It's pretty freaking good. I'm not willing to put it at the top QUITE yet. Need to see a lot more anime to do that. That last episode is pretty killer on the psyche tho.
Good luck on the Philosophy test too.

I just had a test over the American Civil War. Went quite well, actually. It was really funny during all of our lectures, as everytime our teacher said anything about General Robert Lee, I jumped up and shouted "GO LEE!" I even wore my Lynard Skynard shirt during those lectures, just because it's a Confederate flag design.
That sounds like a sorta funny thing I'd only laugh at if I wasn't there (I hate anyone that interrupts class). And hey I wasn't there - so . A little hypocritic I suppose but that's life.
As for me I plan to just relax a bit and watch the rookie game at the NBA All-Star weekend. Can't wait to see the skills night. Not so much for the dunk contest but for the 3-point contest. I always find that the most fascinating.
I'm over my girlfriend's house, we just finsihed watching the Departed what a good movie that was. I've always liked Scorsese films, my favourite being Taxi Driver, that has to be one of my favourite movies of all time.
and just so this isn't me droning on about my movie taste, here's a deck I built yesterday, tell me what you think.
This isn't exactly an original deck idea, an old co-worker use to play a deck like this and it annoyed the hell out of me. Recently, I saw a deck almost exactly like this on mtgvortex, I accordingly made my own adjustments and you have the deck you see before you. If any one wants a run down on how it works, just ask, I think it is pretty straight forward.
Well goodnight everyone! This will probably be my last post for tonight. I will be on tommorrow though. I will be on aol messenger and also msn if anyone wants to talk to me. See you all soon! Take care and best wishes to everyone! *hugs and blows kisses to everyone*
Welcome back Sir Glam. Its been so long I had forgotten you'd ever graced us with your presence ;). On the topic of jokes, I personally believe the sarcasm tags to be tech :teach:.
Good night Cecelia (if that really is your last post ;), you've got the same tendancy as Omna and I. Saying goodbye and getting captivated by something else someone says :).)

Bad news, one of the two colleges I applied to in Canada sent me a rejection letter. Basically they had a waiting list for interviews and only Canadian citizens were getting interviews, so they declined to further my application. I also think it might have been incomplete still, because my high school sends out transcripts at one speed only - regular snail mail.
Oh well. I honestly wish I had better news to post here. Y'all must be gettin' tired of hearing about how I self-sabotage and then whine about "bad luck".
No, not really; I never tire of your words.
Life is so constructed that an event does not, cannot, will not, match the expectation.
I'm sorry to hear of your rejection form one of the Canadian college that you applied to.
*Hugs.*
Okay, adios. Study as if you were going to live forever; live as if you were going to die tomorrow. ... ... ...
My brother tried to get my family into HeroClix a year ago, it didn't really work out as I was the only one who could remember the rules which made my other brothers mad. Then the fact that I didn't even enjoy it... I was pleasantly surprised by how complicated it was though.
Complex? It's not that complex- and certainly not nearly as complex as, say, Magic, which is one of the most ridiculously complicated games I've ever played!
Probably a bit late, but Happy Birthday Shadowfox!! Hope you enjoy your 18th.
A warm welcome, Setsunka , I hope you like this place as much as I do.
GTB--I'm sure I wasn't around when you first frequented the Coffeehouse. A welcome for you as well (which I suppose should be a welcome back, but meh).
*hugs Starr* We're here for whatever you need to vent about. Hopefully some good news will come along soon. I personally don't think you should worry about people getting annoyed about you sharing life's experiences. Good luck with waiting on your second school.
Kraj, it's no trouble about mentioning you and Brad. Even though he won't try magic, he's still an important part of your life. You guys may as well be in the couples list, since you make such an adorable one.
@ couples list...I think Seph and Emma were missed too. So a belated Happy Valentine's Day to you two.
Ethersphere and Photon Eater, Congrats on getting a date. Whether it's February 14th or not, you still got to have a nice day of expressive love.
Allin, I hope you quickly recover from the car accident. Those are definitely scary. I almost went into a flooded 8 foot ditch earlier this winter and I'm still a bit leery but it gets better.
Hopefully the weather clears up for everyone. We only got 4-7 inches of snow. It seems like many people got freezing rain on top. The snow here wasn't too bad to drive through at first. Now the winds are blowing and there are nasty drifts across the open fields onto the roads. I dislike going 25-30mph when I have places to be. Leaving for classes at 7:15 is not a joy. But anyway, I hope heat and sunshine come or whatever it takes to melt the ice and make the conditions safer.
Lengthy post, so it's time for me to wrap it up. I have a lot of homework this weekend, since next week is the final week before finals and spring break. I want to get it done by Sunday, so I can hopefully try Magic again this weekend. I'm off to bed, and may not post again until Sunday. Enjoy your weekend everyone!!
- Hey everyone
- Good night Cecilia, Alacar, Dreia, and everyone else going to bed!!
- Just saw Ghost Rider; it as pretty cool.
- Here is the first rough draft of my FCC entry. Tell me what you think.
- I have a track meet early tomorrow, wish me luck!!
- I had a bunch of really random, short things to say, which is why I went note-style for this post.
- Bye everyone!! Have a good day tomorrow :).
Well, yeah I didn't mean its actually complex, but when I tried it I thought it would be insanely simple is all.
I hope you're starting Freaking Elves now Photon?
I hope you are going to send me an elixir made from caffeine and the remainder of your youth, because otherwise there is no way it's happening tonight. Sorry, I know, I've been slacking, it's just hard with my schedule basically cut in half lately, so my days off are pretty packed right now.
Morning everyone. I sure missed a lot yesterday, but yesterday was an interesting day for me.
I got home from school and was in my basement playing Nintendo when I get a call to go see Ghost Rider at 7. So I'm like "Yeah sure I'll go." So my friends come and pick me up and we are on our way to the movies and we get a flat tire. My friend who was driving didn't have a spare so we had to call his parents to come with a spare and help us change the tire. So we finally fix the tire, but by now it is 6:45 and the movie theater is 10 minutes away. So instead we go to a different theater for a show at 8:15, but it is sold out. So in a last ditch effort we go to the mall's movie theater to see a 10:00 show. We finally get tickets and sit down and watch Ghost Rider. But with about 20 minutes left my friend Andrew gets a call that his dad had to be rushed to the hospital. So after all of that we never finish the movie, which wasn't that good anyway, and now his dad is in the hospital until Monday.
@Strongbad, wouldn't a picture of several creatures rising from the grave be better? It just seems like one risen creature is a misrepresentation of what the card does.
Shin': Well, you missed the sign up for freaking elves by a week or so. But you can always talk to Photon about being put on the waiting list to get put in when someone invariably falls short of activity standards, or, to quote Photon:

Yes, you are right. I just used that as a starting point because it looked cool, but I'm planning to look for a better piece of art later. Thanks for the input, though.

Wow, exciting night, it sounds like. Yeah, I saw Ghost Rider last night also. I actually liked it, but I'm a really bad movie critic, trust me. I enjoy watching almost any movie. Well, I hope your friend's dad is okay and nothing too bad happened to him.

@ Dreia: Yeah, I was before your time too. Like I said, it's been several months. I think I was just here for the first two or three coffeehouse threads.
@ Strongbad: WHY DIDN'T YOU TAKE ME TO SEE GHOSTRIDER WITH YOU?!?!
@ John: Hi John!
@ Ninja Pirate: Wow, sounds like a really wild night. Hope your friend's father gets better soon.
Just a friendly reminder - If you're in the Precon league and have time to play today, PM me please. I need to get some matches in. I was gonna play CA last night but something came up at the last minute.
Also, I saw the first episode of Texhnolyze today... Weird, weird stuff, but I like it. There was no speach for more than half of the episode.
Oh relax, she probably just fell in a hole somewhere and is being forced to survive on roots, worms, and the occasional tunneling vole.
Yeah, that happened to me a couple of years back. Then my parents were worried after I didn't come home for six days, and went searching for me. I lived off of rainwater and worms. Them is good eats.

I may occassionally pluck people off of the waiting list to play NPCs and the like. Freaking Elves is generally more RP centered than the other campaigns- stats exist almost primarily to give characters something to talk about.
@ Photon: I like the new avatar. Well, I'm not sure if it's actuially new, but it's new to me. And actually, Magic is one of the most uncomplicated games I've ever played, just because all of the rules are pretty much listed on the cards themselves.
I've had it for about 2 weeks now.
Except Magic DOESN'T put most of the rules on cards- it puts reminder text occasionally for abilities, but cards don't explain a lot- the stack, card types, mana costs, burn, tapping, phases, attacking, damage, ANYTHING. Magic is one of the few games I can think of that has such an expansive comprehensive rules. If you want to play an uncomplicated game, play Chutes and Ladders. Magic is, and always has been, a complex game. Complexity is good, though, it allows for an amazing depth of strategy and a variety of playstyles. I LIKE complex games, so long as the complexity is handled with (warning to Maro haters, here it comes) elegance. It sounds a little contradictory, but there it is.
So, have I mentioned how we have a curse on us regarding computers? We can never have two computers in one house, due to, I don't know, Gypsy magic and whatnot. So, for the past 9 or 10 days I've been having trouble getting my new laptop shipped to me, and this morning I finally got the order processed and I was told it would be shipped. No less than an hour later, my current computer immediately commits seppuku. Suddenly, out of nowhere, it develops all these random problems that weren't there just this morning. It's like... it can sense the coming of it's replacement, and the curse has triggered, causing it to go into a death throe.
I've got it up and working for as long as I've been able to type this, but if the three of us disappear unexpectedly for a week or so, you'll know what happened.

Hope things turn out best for you, and that you get your computer soon.
Thanks. I'm hoping so, too. I only have a limited budget for a new one, so I'm having to try and grab up good deals when I can find them... and the problem with that is that a lot of other people are doing the same, particularly since it's tax return season. As a result, there has been some issue with multiple people putting the same notebook into their cart at the same time- there will be one notebook at a good price, like in the $500 range, but only a limited quantity, so everyone tries to get it at once, and as a result, I've placed orders, had to dick around and wait for the order to be processed since any purchase on my card over $500 requires a security validation for online purchases- and then found that, after the order is processed, the item has gone out of stock. It's really annoying.

Sounds like you're having Atog-luck.
