Hey, comic books can be frightening. It can be mood whiplash to read Silver Age Teen Titans, then go into Marv Wolfman and George Pérez's run of the title. Then there are writers like Devin Grayson who are scary for a totally different reason.

It's just, I like having different styles. This one with its appearance like a religious icon feels appropriately apocalyptic.

Nowadays seems like only Seb Mckinnon and maybe a few others have the freedom to ignore aesthetics consistency.

God, this - we need to go back to the days when all the art isn't the exact same comic book garbage. This is awesome

Wow, this card is really nuts in a Grixis Bolas deck. If they can stick a Bolas, this will let them recover counterspells and removal to protect it.

Awesome art. I prefer this style, as in something you'd expect out of an illuminated manuscript or a spellbook, to the modern style. Its not just higher quality, its more magicy. And when going less abstract or stylized and more "realistic", I'd greatly prefer something more like the Hildebrandts (who actually were Magic artists once upon a time) or Ted Nasmith.

I can just imagine Ajani doing cat things with his claws into Chandra's shoulders here

The card itself is either Gifts Ungiven for your graveyard, or quadruple Regrowth. Pretty cool.
