Yeah, I like how it has "nonland" because of Vampire Hexmage and friends. (And to a lesser extent, Imprisoned in the Moon, Song of the Dryads, Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle, and the flip lands from Ixalan block.)

This set is nuts.

Nice with proliferate I'd say.

It's also really bad against decks that can proliferate it to off numbers.

WoTC's logic: Let's take one of the most powerful artifacts from a prior meta and reprint it...but this time lets make it a land, thus harder to remove, and give it a secondary ability to produce mana. Yep, sounds balanced...

Still very slow and situational, since it's relying on a creature's tap ability.

Well, they just dramatically simplified this by printing Soul Diviner. You can use this to remove the starting charge from the land while drawing a card.

It's still in my Vorel of the Hull Clade +1/+1 counters matter EDH deck. Great for saving counters or just shuffling them around when you've got Pir, Imaginative Rascal, Hardened Scales, etc. He's getting a LOT of toys this set, though I don't think this will be one of them since it's too janky to activate, recur and it's a very color intensive deck.

Man, I remember power conduit. It went in my affinity deck with skullclamp and the old artifact lands (e.g. Seat of the Synod). That was such a nuts era of MTG.
I get your point though. It is not technically impossible to get the explosion zone to zero counters, as the only way to do this in standard is through exactly Sylvan Awakening or Clan Guildmage, followed by Suncleanser.

I mean. You also can't play it for 0 to wipe tokens (at least without some shenanigans with something like power conduit to move charge counters specifically) and you can't sink in a specific amount of mana and blow it all in the same turn except popping it for 1 unless you have land-untapping shenanigans.

Tokens survive

This is nuts in any deck with a high focus on colorless which tend to be devoid of 1 or 2 mana permanents it cares about anyway. Tron and eldrazi love this.

This is one of the best cards in the set. I will be getting a set of 4 for sure.
