I think what catches my eye the most about this is that its at instant speed, and at that point, its just straight up green burn against creatures if you have some decently sized creatures on the field. There is no real drawback to this since they don't technically fight the creature and being 3 mana in green isn't that expensive considering all the mana ramp we are getting in this current standard environment.

I can even see this being a staple removal spell for green commander decks.

Yeah, apparently Soul's Fire is green now. This is how Selesnya does it, apparently.

In most green decks, this may as well just say "destroy target creature".
