So... how many cards would a generic 6/6 flyer for WUBRG need to draw you before you feel like you're getting a good deal? Even if it draws you 3-5 cards, it seems a bit...bland.

Showing Demonlord Belzenlok how etb drawing cards is done, I see. It's unfortunate that this can't grab three or four color cards, eh? But flavorful.

Reading the card a second time kinda makes me feel better though because maybe he just dies and comes back stronger to fight Bolas?

Ral was working with Bolas & was seeking Niv's position as leader of Izzet. My guess is that Niv was overthrown, Ral took control over Izzet, & now Niv is coming back stronger than ever.

Not to mention still having the tie to Ravnica.

I'm guessing he did the fusion dance with the Worldsoul?

It's not that hard to actually set this up. You can pour a ton of mana into Soothsaying, or you can use Jar of Eyeballs. Or you can just use other cards to preview this. Or you can use Brainstorm and put three two-color cards from your hand on top of your library to at least ensure your Brainstorm cards are "free". But most likely, you'll just blink him over and over.

I'm reading it more as an ascension than a resurrection. I'm also guessing he's not under Bolas's control both due to their mutual dislike of other dragons and it'd be weird flavorfully for a UR creature to align with Bolas and gain GW.

So, is he the new Living Guildpact after all?

On the other hand, Dragon Avatar makes me wonder a bit if he might set his sights a bit higher...

The templating of this card makes me cringe.

I can't make out the art at all, and honestly, I'm disappointed. I know he spent ages planning for something, but this? Just more power? And also, it means we likely won't ever see a fun new red blue niv-mizzet legend.

Which will probably be tomorrow (i.e. 4/12). The leaked card read Act II, and this week is effectively the Act II previews. So Niv-Mizzet probably comes up just in time to start smelting God-Eternals.

Just gotta wait for it to be actually previewed rather than leaked.

The reason you can't make out the art is because it's a bad, low rez image from MODO/Arena. There's a bunch of spoiled cards with similarly grainy, early 2000s dial-up art.

so this guy cant grab tricolor cards ?

I can't wait to first pick this and never be able to cast it.

Imagine a 5-color commander deck where every single maindeck card is two colors.
