MTG Salvation

This seems unbelievably overpowered. Let's pretend it's "only" a 4/4 for 1WW that's indestructible on your turn. That's still considerably better than what you'd expect at that cost. The two abilities aren't strong, but remember that it's on top of something that's already very strong.

Gideons +1 doesnt affect himself and you need him to stick for 3 turns in a row to exile something and when he does he just dies. I guess you are a fan of Desolatormagic ^^

He's a 4/4 indestructible creature for 3 CMC... that can't block. He's only a creature on your turn, and during your opponent's turn, any damage they can get through can be dealt to Gideon and eventually destroy him. He's not truly indestructible, and he gives you no defensive benefits.

This really seems hard to believe. April Fools perhaps?

The design for most planeswalkers is already carelessly OP. A 3 cost 4/4 indestructible lifelink occasional permanent exile machine probably going to not be a set defining card.

I feel like Gideon is the first Blackblade who doesn't know how to use the sword right.

I'm picturing this card being used with the new azorius wrath. This guy survives, the +1 makes another guy survive, and you bounce a third guy to save them.

This has got me wondering what happens if he's a creature on your opponent's turn (e.g., Opalescence and Enchanted Evening). Still, obviously strong card is obvious.

I was more thinking of combat damage to a planeswalker that doesn't come in the form of attacking a planeswalker.

@#9 His power/toughness would actually depend on the timestamp. If Opalescence entered last, he would always be a 3/3. Otherwise, you are correct. (EDIT: Note to self: Gideon B. is not a 4-drop. Correction made.)

He'd become a 3/3 typeless creature planeswalker

then on your turn, his ability would overwrite that and he'd be back to normal but still an enchantment

Gideon used to be as high as a 6/6, and often a 5/5.

That Blackblade certainly doesn't seem to be doing anything for him.

This seems a bit weak.

Doesnt do much relevant when it comes down and can't really protect itself. It's decent as a hard to kill 4/4 against controllish decks (although those can just remove a planeswalker typically). The problem is that other decks just attack this down, it is only good if you already have board control.

I disagree, controll sideboards usually contain a threat or 2. Sure gideon is not as good as Lyra as a threat but he is more flexible.

It's okay in a control mirror but control doesnt want this main and i doubt they want it in the sideboard. There are still too many ways to remove it including contempt and teferi.

It will be good in controll mirrors, they cant cast it down and on their turn its a planeswalker so they'd have to contempt it and if they have to contempt your Gideon when you have teferi in your deck you are in an excellent position. I dont even wanna know how disgusting this would be if you have both teferis out at the same time plus this game is ******* over.
