Seriously, though, I'm pretty down on the amass mechanic. While it has the potential to be scary if it appears incidentally on enough powerful cards (similar to energy), I imagine that it will fall closer to the outlast mechanic from Khans. While the thought of a "creatureless" grixis control deck holds some appeal, I keep flashing back to the awaken mechanic from BFZ. No matter how big and scary you build up that vanilla, it only takes one kill spell to knock you to square 1.

We'll see what sort of support it gets.

Outside of Standard, I do have an Abzan Zombie deck that might want this. I'm waiting to see what support it gets. Mostly, abusing some lords and Wayward Servant, Plague Belcher, and Diregraf Colossus to create a swarm that is difficult to deal with—you're leeching them when Zombies come out, and hitting them really hard when Zombies die. It runs sweepers and often finishes games just off of Belcher triggers.

I think this might not be nearly as useful to the deck as Bolas' Citadel, considering I run Song of Freyalise to make all those Zombies into mana dorks! But we'll see if there are any good Zombie Army creature cards, or if they'll only ever be created through spells with the amass keyword.

Can be scary with tribal lords and anthems.

Unfortuantely, not a bitterblossom despite what it looks like at first glance. Unfortunate, right?!?!? Could honestly be good with a sac outlet so that this gives you a creature every upkeep.

I think people are underestimating how powerful this will be in limited. Sure, removal gets you back to square 1, but you still have this on the field and your opponent just had to use removal not to remove a threat, but to temporarily weaken that threat. And if they're spending their removal to get rid of your constantly regenerating threat, they're not spending their removal on your other bombs.
