Posted Apr 18, 2016However, Autumnal Gloom + Hangarback Walker and Sinister Concoction / Evolving Wilds have made this guy easy to flip.
As of recently I've been trying to crack the puzzle on Bant Humans and UR Control, and since those mechanics require targeting, this little guy has been a thorn in their side. If you play this in Abzan colors, you now have access to Dromoka's Command making this guy a 5/5 hexproof trample is a solid body to be at in this format. I've been curious about running this with Nissa, Voice of Zendikar, and/or Arlinn Kord for the Vigilance and +2/+2 buff. So a 6/6 Trample hexproof on turn 4, 5, 6 etc. is a solid way to end alot of these archetypes not running much in the way of board whipe. This may be a little gimmicky, but it's worth building around.
So far, I've been running it with Deathmist Raptor, and Den Protector in a naya build. With nahiri and Nissa, Voice of Zendikar. I would even go as far as considering Gideon for his Emblem, but this guy needs the 5/5 body, it is crucial for continuous aggression.
