MTG Salvation

This card seems like a lot of fun to me, but monoblue cards that do nothing but make monoblack zombies really weird me out. Sure, blue likes instants and sorceries, but what is blue about making zombies? If they're underwater zombies they could be blue.

Also a card called "Rise from the Tides" should have been the one to break Homarid decks wide open. Alas.

It would not, spells only go to the graveyard after they resolve.

Remember, blue is the other color for zombies on Innistrad. The original Innistrad had 16 blue zombies all but one of which dealt with graveyards in some way. If I had to guess I'd say that what makes it monoblue is what it checks for to make the zombie tokens. As for the card itself, I like it and it could be a strong finish for control since you can block with the zombies if need be so it's not a completely waste turn (I'm looking at you Army of the Damned).

This set has been taking a huge dump on the color pie. Colors this time around seem a lot less about flavor or mechanics and much more about "color" or imagery themselves. Avacyn flips into Red to express rage and blood-soaked wings rather than Black to express her corruption. Nahiri splashes Red, for the first time on a Kor card, just because she's angry. Think of this card being Blue as a throwback to High Tide, cards that do things you wouldn't normally expect out of the color, but get shoehorned in because "Water is Blue."

That aside, I much prefer the cards Army of the Damned or Empty the Pits, but that's what sets Mythics apart from Uncommons.

I don't think so. Effect resolves while card is on the stack.
