First strike: Good, even if it is strictly worse than Boros Recruit (outside of EDH, not that anyone in EDH plays 1/1s with a keyword other than Edric decks, where it's the wrong color and wrong keyword).
Double strike: Shouldn't be on a common creature for so cheap.
Menace: Shows potential, I'll admit.
Flying: Shouldn't be on a red common.
Trample: On a 1/1? LOL! (You suck too, Llanowar Elite, just slightly less than Defiant Elf or Charging Badger.) The only reason I played Goblin Gaveleer is because it's so hilarious in an equipment deck, to say nothing of Grafted Exoskeleton on it. (I could see green do the same thing with auras, +1/+1 if needed. And by "I could see" I mean "please do, Wizards".)
That leaves haste. But haste has the problem of only mattering for one turn, so it's often underrated by players. So they have to have some other ability. So, we have three keywords you can put on a common 1/1 for R.
