Really good card in my opinion. Should be easy enough to trigger the spectacle, at least in b/r and then has a true thoughtseize effect without the life loss.

Great for aggro. Definitely not as good for other shells. One drop creature into this on the play seems good.

Decent tool for Standard black-based aggro, a little too balanced for other formats that have Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek, but this is still a decent interactive card that doesn't disrupt your own tempo a lot. I think picking your opponent's brain on turn 3 in addition to dropping some threat while you're beating down is pretty appealing.

This is the best card previewed so far IMO. Sure it's pretty specific in the decks it can slot into- but this plus Judith and the spectacle demon is giving me dreams of Invasion era Machine Head... All Plague Spitters and Phyrexian Scutas. They are finally doing Rakdos right. I'm impressed.

Definitely no Thoughtseize or Duress, unless you're able to keep up the pressure.
