It probably won't, it makes the old kikipod deck or other versions a turn slower and its more susceptible to removal. But I can see more value decks popping up in the fringe strategies of modern. Hoping to combo off turn 4 without having your own interaction is a good way to lose.

Pod is banned in Modern, and this is undeniably weaker since creatures are easier to kill than artifacts and have summoning sickness, so the theory WotC is clearing hoping for here is that this reiteration of it is strong enough to make a deck that can compete, but not so strong that it requires another ban.

What the... Birthing Pod in Standard?! Damn. Just... damn.

Birthing Pod is awesome, but it wouldn't not have gotten banned if it had summoning sickness and actually cost 4 mana (everyone paid the life right?). This is even easier to deal with since it's a creature too.

Remember all the members of the Magus cycle from Time Spiral? Barely any of them made waves in constructed so I'm not too worried.

Powerful effect, but probably a little too slow to make waves. Will be interesting to see how it plays out in the Standard metagame though, there's certainly some good incentives for creatures to die and a surplus of great ETB effects on a stick out there. Jadelight Ranger into Ravenous Chupacabra seems pretty good.

Look, you wouldn't believe how many times I couldn't combo of with KikiPod because I didn't have enough mana up for comboing and protection... You guys and galls did notice that her activation is "T, Sac" and not tap "T, 1+(G/P), Sac", right?

Seems like a pretty nutty commander but I don't see people slotting Lightning Greaves into their Modern decks just to make this work (I think it's a pride thing)

This won’t break modern because it doesn’t have birthing pods artifact (haste) and alternate cost. But I can’t wait to commander it with untaping combos that will lead me to searching threw my deck until I get Sphinx of foresight. Lol
