It's not upside only if you want to play creatures that aren't demons/devils/imps (He might kill his own Judith!
1. His ETB effect just isn’t fun. Imagine doing it for a battlefield full of tokens. Yuck.
2. It’s not guaranteed to affect the board.
3. He’s quite easy to remove, and 6 mana is a big investment.
4. He seems to have very little synergy with the rest of his guild cards.
Terrible design. I guess we are never going to get a playable Rakdos.
Then you just pick up all the creatures, shuffle them and draw the first Y creatures and they die, rest lives.
Works out the same and doesnt take much longer.
I enjoy the "fun" for Commander though.
"Yes."
"What did it cost?"
"Six mana."
Some people don't like this design's coin flips, as if an unconditional Plague Wind on a 6/6 flampler should be a thing.
I find them perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
But seriously, I think this card references earlier versions of Thanos, where he has a huge ego (and yet still an inferiority complex leading to him sabotaging his own plans) and is in love with death, so there's your BR. He's far more WBG in Infinity War, which has become my favorite incarnation of the character. But given how they design cards, this one couldn't have been done before Infinity War was released, so, yeah, earlier versions.
