Beyond that, he is somewhat playable in EDH, which makes sense in a way; new players tend to be Timmy/Tammy, and WOTC (and a good portion of the fanbase) think of EDH as the "Timmy format". (We can debate if it's true or not, but that's how players think of it.) Brawl has a double bonus for attracting new players because it also rotates.
The real benefit here is the +2 grants haste, and if you don't have use for haste this turn, the -3 is a bolt.
The name sounds interesting. If the nephilim were Magic's spin on Evangelionesque angels (and the name suggests they were), is Domri supposed to be Magic's take on Shinji?
