I like how you can gain card advantage if you played black. Even though this is not how black draws cards.

It's a cantripping 2/2 when your hand is empty, which is new for red.

Well I gave it the limiting factor "when your hand is empty"

This doesn't replace itself unless you Spectacle (or your hand is empty). So it's not really a cantrip. With Spectacle it has the same ability as Bedlam Reveler.

Card seems playable for aggro/burn decks that empty quickly, can be a pick me up later in the game.

I can remember a time when 1R for a 2/2 had to come with a severe downside. I'm on board for this. Even without the block mechanic its solid enough to be usable.

I actually really like how it doesn't give you a choice, you HAVE to discard. Feels very Rakdos

This is really good for standard RDW.

2/2 + a loot effect is pretty sweet especially as RDW has some conditional cards like experiment frenzy, lava coil and wizard lightning which can range from great to crap depending on the situation.

The fact that this is also a 2/2 + draw when your hand is empty is great. And getting to spectacle this with a low hand is obviously insane and can happen quite easily with an early runaway steamkin.

4-of next to runaway steamkin immediately i'd say, cutting some viashino pyramancers and probably the wizard's lightnings. Although I could see just keeping all pyromancers. Playing more 2-drops with this card isn't a big deal anyway because you can just use it to dump an excess 2-drop if you drew too many or play it a different point on the curve.

Why wasn't this card's creature types Human Reveler?
