That is 100% true but I think that playtesting should have been more of a thing. The early sets were blue fetishistic, and 99% of creature cards were a waste of ink and card stock. But at least in this card we have a correction. Not sure if its usable at 1R but no one would be able to claim that it should cost less. There are just some better performing cards for the function.

It wasn't just the game that was new, the whole GENRE was new. They had NO baseline to work with, so a lot was really wonky.

Its difficult to process how Orcish Oriflamme cost 4 mana and Ancestral Recall costs 1, in the same set. I mean the game was new and all but still how do you botch costs so badly?

It is always a victory for me when a new card references the greatest set of all time: Fallen Empires.
