I'm happy to see this reprint. That being said, this card has far more nostalgia value than serious competitive value compared with the other options available in Modern. At 4 CMC, it doesn't really slot into degenerate blue turbo-draw tactics. It is a good card and I wouldn't be surprised if there are a couple decks it slots into as a 1-2 of, but it's not going to be as ubiquitous in the format as Opt or Serum Visions.

One of the most effective card advantage plays at instant speed to this day! One of the few cards that can make both players feel smart at the same time.

Like, seriously, this card has always been my archetypal example of a Spike card. Playing a mental mini-game (Do I split the cards 3-2 or 4-1 with the 1 being a critical card?), self-mill for later graveyard use, and it's an instant.
