"Free" 5/4 as a common makes me suspect there is a rare or mythic of this general idea that is going to be absurd.

Actually, not even that. (And since the lands have to be tapped when he enters, you're safe. TBH, if it weren't for what I'm about to describe, he would be really broken in this post-mana burn era.) The issue is if you'll need mana after this phase but before your next untap step. Really, every color has some things which only work as instants (or permanents with flash), though TBH I would say black has the fewest. White's intermediate, having damage prevention, bouncing, Smite effects (removal spells which can only be cast during combat), and a few cards like Mighty Leap and Village Bell-Ringer. Blue, green, and red have the most.

Green, though, has mana dorks and "untap all lands" effects, so you could see him in GW a lot.

No tapped lands, so you would need to tap three creatures. So it'd be like Myr Superion if it had convoke.

To be fair, you do have to tap all your lands, which can be a huge deal.

Whoops I really did miss read that. Shows checking twice is not always enough!

If you have two Ornithopters and a white 1-drop? You may be misreading "No tapped lands" as "No untapped lands"

Here's a more realistic situation. Turn one Leonin Vanguard, turn two Saproling Migration unkicked, turn 3, tap Leonin Vanguard, both saproling tokens to cast this guy as 5/4.

Edit - NB that Goblin Instigator, Lazotep Reaver, and Raise the Alarm can be substituted for Saproling Migration, so there's a few ways this might become a frequent occurrence.
