Posted Apr 9, 2020Cruel ultimatum gave a ton of card advantage, killed a creature and typically emptied the opponents hand while gaining you 5. This does nearly the same but gives less relative card advantage and most importantly doesn't stop the opponent as much, it was very hard to lose after a cruel ultimatum but losing after is more likely as it doesn't do much to stop your opponent.
