I've started to hate how they do these lobotomy varients more and more. Why let the opponents draw, or, if you want the draw in there, why not be able to target yourself? There have been several of these weak hosers meant to pluck a combo from the library in recent sets, but they suck at their job because they are so weak. When we actually had a standard where these cards should have shined, with copy cat and aether whatever casting free spells, we had these underpowered targeted exile cards and they didn't get ran.

Also, you may have noticed the weirdly clunky wording; On the one hand, this can't completely drain a relentless rats deck. On the other hand, this can hit basic lands.

I think the important thing here is that this can hit lands, period. Cranial Extraction type effects always state non-land. But now this can be used to strip Tron, Inkmoth Nexus, Cloudpost, etc... Very good card IMO

I could see this being a combo breaker

Easy to mark this off as another ho-hum Lobotomy, but hitting lands means you can significantly disrupt Tron, Valakut, and combo decks like Ad Nauseam. It's pretty good. 3 mana is 3 mana though, so remains to be seen if this will be preferable to more flexible hate cards like Damping Sphere.

I really wish you could target yourself. Once the game has passed the early game, you could thin your deck of lands and one-drops to get to your finisher faster.
