Won't see much Standard play baring a very slow, grindy format (Which, with Kaladesh/Amonkhet rotating out... maybe?), but going to be superb in Commander.

The issue with this card is that we have something called Search for Azcanta already in Standard so that will probably see more play than this tho. Then again we will have to see how good the jump-start cards are.

Unfortunately, we are losing most of the prowess creatures. I think this will be good with the new Ral, Izzet Viceroy Planeswalker as either a control deck with enigma drake finishers, or a burn deck with Mirari Conjecture/Primal Amulet type of synergy.

dealing 20 damage with this in modern storm is going to be trivially easy.

Actually, its easier. Its like a storm count that doesn't go away, but you have to pay the price of 2 mana every 5 storm counts. That's not really a big deal for us either. Post board when you may not have the luxury of a graveyard (leylines, RIP), or a reducer, or maybe even grapeshot (meddling mage, surgical extraction), this is going to be a superior plan B over the existing ones we have like TiTi or Empty the Warrens (everybody sees this coming, come on).

I'm already thinking of using this as a back up plan in the board. It's much easier to just stagger a ton of spells as the turns go on against decks with heavy disruption. Not to mention this is harder to tag with surgical.

I am so excited for this card! I think it will have a good home in a Izzet burn deck. I'm not sure if it's going to be competitive, but it does everything a burn/enigma drake deck would want; draw cards for cheap and deal damage for super cheap!

The real power of this card is if you can play multiple early. That mixed with the potential power level of jump-start cards will determine if these are viable enough. Definitely promising, though - cards that just ask you to play your deck while you generate value are usually decent.

Jump start could make this an all star in standard. 1 mana instants or sorceries plus this on the board and you have a good chance at doing major damage to your opponent. It can speed up your strategy quite a bit with the card draw.
