Reprinted uncommons as rares in sets are just never going to feel good to me, no matter how relevant they are in the meta. It's like the raw admission that the uncommon slot used to matter and now doesn't, and Rare is the new Uncommon.

To be fair, this little monster has carved a rather bloody chapter in magic's history and remains relevant as the best enabler to dredge's degeneracy in all three eternal formats. This guy getting upshifted to rare feels less bad then cancel with upside variant number twenty-five being a rare. (Which in this set, it thankfully isn't)
