This was used in the release notes as the example for changing "he or she" into "they" in card text. Frankly, I think this was a long time coming. Not only is the new phrasing more inclusive and less clunky, it also takes up less space and ink, giving more room for flavor text. After all, if this card used the old wording, they'd have to either use a smaller font size or skimp on the flavor text.
Yeah, I agree with it. I know that in some circles the debate ever rages on about using "they/their" as third-person singular possessive, but frankly, if it was good enough for Bill Shakespeare, it's good enough for Magic cards. It's less clunky, saves room, and allows for a cleaner look to the card. I'm all for it.
