Makes it more interesting when you ask the question "Do I block this thing and trade my dude for it, or do I let it gain my opponent 1 life each turn (and also this guy has a third thing")
I was noticing that as well. Deathtouch is best on low power creatures and lifelink rewards high power, so they really shouldn't be seen much at all together. I guess there's some coolness in having a life and death combat tricks theme but its really being run into the ground.
