Crop Rotation on legs with a great body.

Knight is also a 3-drop that is a 2/2. Which is being compared to a 1-drop that is a 1/2. Neither have haste. Both are equally vulnerable with only 2 base toughness. Assuming fetchlands, the reclaimer becomes online around the same time a knight would enter play while not having summoning sickness on turn 3. Also that the reclaimer has been doing more work at a sooner pace than a knight would have.

That if a reclaimer or knight is allowed to survive for your next turn to activate its ability, you would have paid 2G versus 1WG for its ability, except the 2G is staggered over two turns while the 1WG cost is one turn but the ability is still staggered for two turns.

Turn 1: Fetchland, Forest-Shockland, 2 damage to self, Elvish Reclaimer (1 land in grave)
Turn 2: Land, activate reclaimer, get more useful land (2 land in grave)
Turn 3 (assuming it survived this long): Repeat of turn 1 or turn 2, Reclaimer is now a 3/4.

Far cry from crop rotation though. That allows the land to be used immediately, this is too slow, vulnerable and expensive to really use for the ability.

This is more like knight of the relinquary, you have to want it for the body but it might help to get a utility land somewhere.

Doubt any deck will be interested in this though. Knight Is great stats, this has mediocre stats for how difficult it is to turn on

Yeah, it's basically Crop Rotation on a Sanctuary Cat body. And Crop Rotation is one of those cards where WotC should've known better even in those days.

No seriously, this is way better than any one-drop has any right to be. Fun fact: If Crop Rotation cost 2 and put the land on the battlefield tapped, it would still be good. This gives you a repeatable version of that effect. Also, this puts itself out of bolt range? Get the hell out of here, this card is nuts.

Seems pretty good with Amulet of Vigor / Crucible of Worlds / Ramunap Excavator and Seedborn Muse in EDH for grabbing nonbasic lands during each of your opponents' turns especially If you're trying to win the game with Maze's End in WUBRG.

Even if it was just a 1/2 with "Threshold: +2/+2" it'd be pretty solid. Being able to rip Cloudposts and The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vales out of your deck is pretty sick.
