yeah lets make a super limited path to exile. yes im aware its not white but still id be much better off just splashing white if i really needed it. Honestly this is one of the worst rares ive seen in a while

i think my biggest issue is there really isnt a good target for it. i havent really looked at modern affintiy latley but from what i remember seeing Arcbound ravager is a bad target ill sac in response, Etched champion likely can't be targeted, master of etherium and Vault skirge are colored, that really leaves Ornithopter, Memnite, Signal Pest, and the Nexus Lands which to be fair the lands are good targets but there is also ghost quarter or Fulminator Mage you could bring in to get better targets. Also you can move something like Cranial Plating to give less life or sac to the ravager

Tron is playing few creatures and most dont matter if you kill them, KCI just wants to cast and can do tricks with priority and mana abilities so you wouldn't get to respond anyways. Emrakul, the aeons torn isnt getting targeted, targeting something like Hangarback Walker is just going to get sacced to KCI and more importantly was simply to trigger Sanctum of Ugin. Ulamog, the ceaseless hunger all ready serves its purpose when you cast. i will say hitting a Wurmcoil Engine isnt bad, no tokens and negate an attack with it. The biggest thing for me though is generally you side out creature removal against tron as well so siding in different removal seems kinda backwards

Eldrazi i honestly don't know what it looks like but i see Fatal Push being just as effective against most of the deck except for Reality smasher for obvious reasons. Though-knot seer is the only card i really see much upside to using this against, gain life draw a card it's not bad. I also dont think spot removal is the great for the matchup id rather bring cards like Damnation

I just feel that this is way too narrow and the decks it tries to hit just don't care they can easily play against it and make it useless. i really wouldnt even call it a niche card i dont see it solving any matchups. the decks were it should be good they can easily play around it

I'd say this is middle of the pack, Dominaria was filled with garbage rares. Though in the limited set, it could be common and not overly powerful (since there are so few colorless creatures to exile). The fact that, Ceremonious Rejection sees play (yes it hits more things on the way down) means there's a slot for this somewhere.

Keep in mind, you (the caster of the spell) gains the life points, which is relevant.

WoTC has been pretty adamant that we will never get another Path to Exile any 1 drop remove that is going to have stipulations, see Fatal Push.

I don't think anyone mentioned this, but this hits colorless Vehicles that have been crewed to attack or block. I imagine this is a safety valve against future Copter blowouts (aka other OP vehicles coming down the pipeline). It'll be interesting to see what vehicles are on Ravnica as we turn to go back there.

White gets ANY 1 cmc creature. Black gets artifact creature with an upside that's irrelevant! At least let it be a nonland permanent!!!
