Hippo centaur is terrifying me.

I dunno. Me and mono-green Selvala are pretty turned on by him.

A random dork that costs 8 mana and does nothing substantial. Doesn't even appease Timmies because it's just a random centaur. Why?

This card is absolutely wonderful in a WG decklist since you can swing all out and wrath afterward to clear everything but your team. Outside of access to white, I don't see much use though and agree it doesn't meet expectations.
