MTG Salvation

I have to say, depictions of black as "merely" competitive and boastful are... pretty refreshing.

It's odd to see a black creature that I can imagine in-universe children rooting for.

It may be early in spoiler season, but this could possibly be my favorite new card in the set. The new mechanic, the balancing, the card art and the flavor text are all wins.
I look forward to cracking one in a pack and playing it at my LGS next month. Since it is a common, that makes it extremely possible and makes me even more excited.

But can he match the Crowd Favorites?

I really like the assist mechanic. It actually seems like a fun political tool for multiplayer games as other people at the table can act as your "benefactor" and help you pay for spells especially if you are somewhat behind.
