5 Best Infinite Landfall Combos In Commander

There are a ton of ways to go ‘infinite’ in Magic: The Gathering - essentially facilitating a game state that can never end and giving you a ton of card advantage or board advantage. One of the most popular mechanics that can go infinite is Landfall, a mechanic that triggers whenever a land is put into play, and we’ve got the list of the best Infinite Landfall combos.

Kodama Of The East Tree + Tireless Tracker + Simic Growth Chamber (or any bounceland)

Ah, Kodama of the East Tree. Easily one of the most famous enablers in any format, it’s also an enabler here. In case you’re unaware, Kodama allows you to put any permanent onto the battlefield with mana value equal to or less than another permanent that entered the battlefield under your control, as long as it wasn’t put onto the battlefield with this ability.

So, the play here is thus - have Kodama of the East Tree on the battlefield alongside Tireless Tracker, a card that makes a clue token whenever a land enters the battlefield. Play Simic Growth Chamber, or any applicable bounceland, to trigger itself, Tireless Tracker, and Kodama. Resolving Kodama and not putting anything onto the battlefield, resolving Simic Growth Chamber to bounce itself back, you then resolve Tireless Tracker to make a clue token. That token then triggers Kodama, allowing you to put Simic Growth Chamber into play - repeating the process and creating infinite clue tokens.

You’ve then got one real option to win the game - play an overloaded Rise and Shine. Sure, you’re going to have to wait a turn to actually attack with them, but the sheer fear of a thousand 4/4 clue tokens staring down your opponent might make them panic.

Perilous Forays + Scute Swarm + Lotus Cobra

Lotus Cobra is key to a few different Landfall combos, since it technically speaking provides value to even tap lands by generating mana whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control. The combo here, though, actually only needs that mana trigger once.

First, you need Perilous Forays, Scute Swarm, and Lotus Cobra all on the battlefield at the same time, along with any other creature, and one colorless mana in your mana pool. Activate Perilous Forays by paying that mana and sacrificing the spare creature to grab any land card with a basic land type and putting it into play. This then triggers Scute Swarm, creating either another Scute Swarm (or multiple of them, depending on how many you control), or a 1/1 Green Insect Creature token, and triggers Lotus Cobra, giving you one mana. You then sacrifice one of the created tokens to Perilous Forays, using the mana from the Lotus Cobra, to repeat the loop.

This gives access to every land with a basic land type from your library, allows you to create a monumental amount of creature tokens, and gives you enough mana to do pretty much anything you want on your next turn after you untap.

Evolution Sage

Evolution Sage + Life and Limb + Sporoloth Ancient + Utopia Mycon

This is a pretty simple one. The first step is that you must have Evolution Sage, Life and Limb, Sporoloth Ancient, and Utopia Mycon on the battlefield at the same time.

Sporoloth Ancient and Utopia Mycon both have abilities that allow you to remove spore counters from them in order to create a 1/1 green Saproling creature token. Activate either of those abilities, and thanks to Life and Limb making every Saproling into a Forest land, Evolution Saga will trigger and allow you to proliferate, adding counters onto your creatures.

You can then activate that ability again, and again, and again. This results in infinite creature tokens, infinite ETB triggers, and access to infinite proliferate triggers - so combine this with powerful Planeswalkers like Garruk, Primal Hunter to win the game.

Esix, Fractal Bloom + Biovisionary + Avenger of Zendikar

This combo will instantly win you the game, but it may also lose you friends. The prerequisites here are as follows: you must not have created any tokens this turn, and control at least three lands. Esix, Fractal Bloom and Biovisionary must both be on the battlefield, Avenger of Zendikar must be in your hand, and you need seven mana in your pool, two of which are green.

Pay that mana to cast Avenger of Zendikar and create a 0/1 green plant creature token for each land you control, but use the replacement effect of Esix to make those tokens copies of Biovisionary instead. Now, when you hit your end step, Biovisionary will check the battlefield to see if you control four or more creatures named Biovisionary, and instantly win you the game.

Shifting Woodland + Aftermath Analyst + Lotus Cobra + Sylvan Safekeeper

This one requires a fair amount of set-up - you need at least four card types among cards in your graveyard, eight lands on the battlefield, and Aftermath Analyst in your graveyard. Shifting Woodland, Lotus Cobra and Sylvan Safekeeper all need to be on the battlefield.

So, the first thing you do is float all of your mana. You then activate Sylvan Safekeeper to give any creature Shroud by sacrificing a land until you only control Shifting Woodland. Then pay four mana to activate Shifting Woodland and copy Aftermath Analyst. Then pay another four mana to activate the ability of Aftermath Analyst that Shifting Woodlands has copied, sacrificing it and returning all land cards from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped. This triggers Lotus Cobra to add green mana to your mana pool, allowing you to repeat that process over and over again.

This gives infinite colored mana, infinite landfall triggers, infinite death triggers, infinite sacrifice triggers, and infinite LTB triggers, allowing for a lot of fun interactions.
