Commentary
Core 2019 still isn't looking good, but positive growth is a welcome site. Each of the top movers here are rebounding upward from their past loss, trying to claw their way back to the top. We're still well below the mark, however, so I would be surprised if we don't see some more growth in the coming weeks. Market equilibrium demands that estimated returns stay within range of box cost, at least for any recent set, and that's something we're falling well short on here. Core sets are notorious for having less consignment, and reduced product and hype can clout many of the normal market forces, but I'd still expect us to hover near the $75 mark. Even bad sets can stabilize there, and Core 2019 isn't horrible.

Commentary
Dominaria's fall also lessens, and we're in the normal returns range for a decent-to-mediocre set for its age. The variance between boxes remains quite high, however, so the returns are fairly unreliable. Teferi remains the top card in all of Standard, and his enormous price is a large factor in Dominaria's steep hit-over-miss. The hit and miss values are roughly $145 and $40, respectfully, with a big chunk of that difference coming from Teferi himself. Unfortunately, card prices continue to polarize and we keep heading in the wrong direction.

Commentary
Rivals has not started to level out like the above sets, and we've now had the worst monthly drop since its release. Only three cards saw positive growth this week, and the monthly change is even worse. That said, we're actually still ahead of where we were two months ago, so this isn't really doom and gloom. The Standard rotation had a massive inflation spike, and we're starting to settle back down to where we started from.

Commentary
Ixalan continues to be the powerhouse oddity that it always has been. We're in the middle of a major negative market correction, and Ixalan continues to have a positive net on returns, low box variance, and the largest table of noteworthy cards that we've seen from a set in a long while. Add to that the fact that Ixalan is the oldest set in Standard — which is historically a major hindrance in performance — and we're simply defying normal trends and logic. I don't know how you feel about pirates and dinosaurs, but Ixalan might very well be remembered as one of the strongest sets we've ever had.
Parting Thoughts...
After last week's steep decline, the leveling out we're seeing is a welcome site. As I mentioned on Rivals, don't consider this slump tragic. We're still in a market correction and ahead of where we were before the rotation inflation. Core 2019 and Dominaria still have quite a bit of work cut out them to catch up with the others, but overall the Standard market remains rather healthy.
The 2018 World Magic Cup is in a couple of weeks, and it will feature Team Unified Standard. There's some potential for lead up hype, and a strong chance we'll get a small meta shift after the results. Until then, hopefully things will continue to settle down.
