Almost all of Hour of Devastation is continuing to fall as the set as a whole devalues quickly. The Scarab God is the sole exception. Instead of following the set down the spiral, she's taken a large jump upward. Blue-Black Control is picking up popularity, where she is a marquee finisher, and she's been seeing more and more play in a variety of other decks. Even some versions of Temur Emerge have been toying with a black splash for her. I would not be surprised if she rose further, gathering more and more foothold in the metagame.

Gideon of the Trials continues it's strong ascent. It was the first card to see a real spike from Ixalan. With the impending rules change (the "planeswalker rule" goes away, and instead they use the "legendary rule"), Gideon of the Trials has become infinitely better than he was before. Being able to use multiple Gideons to keep his "can't lose" ability online is actually a real plan now. Interestingly, the other Gideon will be rotating out of Standard as this rule change is implemented. It is for this reason that Gideon has risen well, but not skyrocketed. Gideon of the Trials won't be able to see the real benefits of this rule change in Standard until Gideon gets a new card. While there might be some people getting it in hopes of a new Gideon, it's really Modern, Commander, and the other eternal formats that are pushing the current spike. If we do get another good Gideon card in standard, expect this Gideon to have an epic spike within an hour of the new card's spoiling.

Spell Pierce was in the middle of it's buyout spike as I pulled prices. It hit an impressive $150 at its peak during Thursday's chaos, but generally fluctuated around the $100 mark throughout the day. It will assuredly fall back, but it's days of being the same price as a bundle pack are long gone. It was the Ixalan reprint that started the crescendo. As copies were picked up for Standard play, as well as speculators who foresaw the impending spike, demand outgrew supply quickly and the card entered full buyout mode. This was probably the most organic buyout spike we've had, as many of the sales went to players instead of collectors.
Damnation, Austere Command, and Aggravated Assault are all cooling off from their buyouts last week. Expect them to fall a few more dollars before they start calming down again. Most other movements were just background noise.

Very little movement of note in Aether Revolt. Metallic Mimic has been slowly climbing for four solid months, and the set is falling at roughly the pace we'd expect for its age. Even Fatal Push has stayed calm, continuing to add as much value to an average box as Inventions.

Kaladesh is quiet, but don't take this as a bad sign. With estimated box value continuing to be at or near box cost, staying quiet is a good thing. You'll have to buy a number of boxes to ensure the Inventions disparity will give you the value spread you need to ensure good return, but the value isn't limited to large buyers. A box of Kaladesh that doesn't contain a masterpiece card will give you a stronger return on your investment than any other set. It will even give you a better return than either set from Shadows Over Innistrad block, which doesn't contain masterpieces.
No, Kaladesh can continue to remain quiet for as long as it wants. With numbers like this, we'll take crickets over significant change for as long as we can.

Hangarback Walker was this week's buyout target. It just barely crossed the $100 mark for a brief period, but quickly dropped back into the 90s the same day. As normal, Hangarback will cool down over the next couple weeks. Supply is still very low, so it will take some time, but I would expect it to calm down in the high 60s or low 70s.

Overall Summary
All eyes are upon the impending Ixalan invasion. As it rotates in, we lose the Battle for Zendikar and Shadows over Innistrad blocks. This will shake up Standard considerably, and I fully expect to have some serious movement at the end of the month as this happens. Many are already looking at the new standard, and prices will slowly being to reflect the new upcoming metagame. These changes will be subdued until the actual arrival of the new Standard, when the full force of the change hits.
