This article will track how cards go from release to its time out of Standard, and as long as deemed necessary for non-Standard sets, as well as offer insight into what cards to invest in and what to ignore. The Magic market is a dangerous place, and this article is here to help guide players and speculators through the murky waters to greater returns.
This article will be updated once a week on Thursdays. Currently, this article series is tracking Khans of Tarkir Block (Khans of Tarkir, Fate Reforged, and Dragons of Tarkir), Magic Origins, and Battle for Zendikar Block (Oath of the Gatewatch, Battle for Zendikar, Zendikar Expeditions). Set Summary
It is hard to believe that Kozilek's Return went from first down to sixth most valuable card in the set. The rest of the set is still cooling off from a hot start, but it still has some impressive value. |

Set Summary
Jace, Vryn's Prodigy is closing in on $100. At its current rate, it should reach that point by the end of the month. The rest of the set is mostly moving up, which is a great sign for the market. More demand for more cards is coming into the market, and that is always good from a market viewpoint. |

Set Summary
The set may fall, but it will never be forgotten. It had a manifest destiny that delved into mechanics that raided our attention and bolstered interest in drafting. While the value of the set was not its greatest prowess, it did dash in some good valued cards. |

Overall Summary
We're down to about a month before Shadows over Innistrad enters Standard and radically reshapes the format. There is only a small part of the set currently known, but if the set continues to be as good it has been so far, it will definitely make up for the lackluster performance of Battle for Zendikar. A review of the set will come out the day before prerelease, which will focus on which rares and mythics are worth going after, and which commons and uncommons to keep. As well, the Monday before the prerelease, there will be a review of which cards in Khans of Tarkir and Fate Reforged you should hold on to.
Cards to Watch
Yavimaya Coast (1.36): The other three painlands have a chance at going up, with this having the most potential.
Ob Nixilis Reignited: This planeswalker keeps showing up in deck lists, and could easily be a $10 to $12 planeswalker.
Card to Avoid
Risen Executioner: No. Just no. This card is way over-hyped. It is not bad, but it doubtful it will see play in Standard at all, unless there is a good amount of zombie tribal support printed in Shadows over Innistrad. Even then, this card, at four mana, is at best a temporary +1/+1 boost that dies to almost every removal spell in Standard at this time.
