This article series documents the price changes of cards in print. We will track how cards go from release to its time out of print. We're currently tracking nine sets: Theros Block (Theros, Born of the Gods, and Journey into Nyx), Khans of Tarkir Block (Khans of Tarkir, Fate Reforged, and Dragons of Tarkir), Magic 2015, Magic Origins, and Modern Masters 2015 Edition. A Standard set runs as long as it's Standard-legal, whereas non-Standard sets will be run as for as long as deemed necessary.
This will be updated every Monday and Friday. The Monday update will follow the Magic events on the weekend to see price changes as a result, while the Friday update will track any changes before the next series of events. The prices come from TCG Player’s median, tracking cards valued at $2.00 USD and up.

Set summary Due to Pro Tour Magic Origins we saw the rise of two decks: Mono Red and U/R Ensoul Artifact. Jace, Vryn's Prodigy is coming down due to weak performance at the Pro Tour, and his value is showing to be mostly hype. Demonic Pact spiked really hard, but started coming already as it's a build-around-me that can't sustain a tier 1 deck. Don't buy into either card's hype. Mono Red is likely to be a strong deck even post-rotation, and rotation generally brings aggro strategies to the forefront, so it might be worth it to consider investing in the non-spiked staples. |

Overall Summary
Standard has reshaped with Pro Tour Magic Origins. We have several new decks with G/B Pact and U/R Ensoul Artifacts. Mono Red and Abzan Control were also strong contenders. The big winner of this time in Standard is Hangarback Walker, which is now the second most expensive rare in Standard, losing only to Polluted Delta. Hangarback Walker is going to be a dominant card for its run and will only see more play as more and more decks try to fit that card into their deck. Magic Origins is a resounding success in that it has good value and has resulted in a plethora of new decks both competitive and casual. It is also driving up the value of other cards in Standard. It is a shame this is the last core set, because this is a core set that is really amazing and does not really have that "core set" feel. There are some spec targets left, like Rally the Ancestors, Rattleclaw Mystic, and Animist's Awakening.
