Poem of the Week - 1 (12-15-08)
Selfish Escape
The constant pressures of her world,
The constant aching of her entire being,
The fears, regrets, and depression unfurled,
caused her to hate living and seeing.
Before the selfish escape that she made,
She wrote a letter, explaining her way,
Out of fear that her memory would fade.
If one were to open the letter, it would say…
“Tell me serene mysteries,
Tell me peaceful stories,
Tell me about strife-less centuries,
Tell me those false fantasies…
Though the fields are filled with desires,
Our voices yet cry for freedom!
Our souls and bodies still tire
In our search for a perfect kingdom!
There it is in our eyes!
There it is in our ears!
All will ends, dies,
Ruined by our fears!
Would you call for solitude
or would you call for liberty
when all you have is fortitude
in the face of only enmity?
Escape from the insanity
Escape from bitter reality
Escape from hate and enmity
Escape to only serenity.
When all the world turns away
When all the world leaves you lonely
When a voice calls the other way
follow it from reality to eternity.”
If you want something a bit more detailed we can talk later on AIM.
"Would you call for solitude
or would you call for liberty
when all you have is fortitude
in the face of only enmity?"
