Now we get to the second item on my ******** of the day. Exhibit 2 is here. Here we see more religious dumbasses interacting with schools. It seems like a few colleges have decided that having separate rooms for men and women is (rightly) a ****ing terrible idea. So they said, "You know what? These are adults now. They should be able to take care of themselves. Let's let men and women room together. They'll handle it." Now the **** has hit the ****ing FAN here. Mothers are getting all sorts of sand in their shrivelled vaginas, and are raising hell. "Oh, you didn't tell me that you were gonna do this!" "What if this leads to premarital sex? My little snowflake would be scarred for life!" One of the students at Stanford, despite her parents saying that they would pay for her tuition, are making their tender little flower pay for her LAST ****ING QUARTER on her own because of this. Are these moms really that ****ing braindead that they can't figure out that their kid is grown up now and doesn't need a ****ing warden all up in their asses? Are we suddenly living in the Middle East, where a woman can't live with a man unless the two are married? Sit the **** down and shut the **** up. Let the kids attend college. Even the kids are telling their moms this, but those intellectual wastelands don't seem to understand the concept of "no big deal". If I personally see any parent doing this, I'm gonna kill them until they are dead. A LOT. With a rusty spork. Let the kids learn. Hell, they've probably got enough to worry about with all the classes and (undoubtedly) homework that they get. They don't need you worrying about what they're doing with what little sleepy time they do get.
No one really reads these blogs anyway, so you're *****ing about stuff to no one. Do you really like to read your own type that much?
Honestly, I don't care if nobody reads my blog. It's more of a way for me to air out my anger at what I see as the amazing stupidity humans tend to exhibit. "*****ing to no one" can actually be kinda healthy. What do you think journals are?

Obviously, stuff's gonna go down in these dorm rooms, if not between the girl and the guy that live there, then with friends of either parties.
That's kinda my point. The parent in question, IMO, doesn't seem to TRUST her ADULT daughter to not be sexually responsible. You may call it naive, but I don't think it's "obvious" that stuff is gonna go down. Reasons follow:

Maybe you don't understand how college works,
Oh, I understand how college works. I'm just finishing up my junior year at college, and while it may be a commuter college I still feel I have been able to learn a great deal about how college works. Sure, there's always gonna be those college students who screw up with no parental supervision, but I have, for lack of a better word, "faith" that most college students are there because they want to be, and because they genuinely want a great life for themselves, and they'll concentrate on obtaining that goal instead of confirming these idiot parents' fears with sex each night or whatever.

It'll end up awkward and unnecessary 95% of the time; let me tell you from experience, where I roomed with girls in the same suite (read: not the same room) my first year of college, and guess what? Stuff happened, and it was awkward.
I'm gonna end my reply with these:
1) Sorry that you felt that it was awkward, but I feel that stuff like that happening could be good for you. You in the general "group" sense. I'm not saying you personally here, since I have no clue who you really are, and thus have no right to make any specific judgments. I think experience is the best teacher, bar none. You do stuff, learn that what happened was awkward, and thus try to prevent it from happening again. Remember, the professors aren't the only people in college who can teach you things.
2) If you (or perchance anyone else reading this post) is actually interested, the daughter of the mom I railed against has responded to the story here.
Dude. Shut the hell up, or calm the hell down, or both.

I wouldn't have such a problem with this if you knew what the hell you were talking about. Let me clue you in on something: making guys and girls live together in a college dorm is BAD IDEA, because of these tiny little things we have called "hormones". Obviously, stuff's gonna go down in these dorm rooms, if not between the girl and the guy that live there, then with friends of either parties. That will lead to social awkwardness, and the students will want to change rooms, making this process futile in the first place. It'll end up awkward and unnecessary 95% of the time; let me tell you from experience, where I roomed with girls in the same suite (read: not the same room) my first year of college, and guess what? Maybe you don't understand how college works, and for that, it's understandable that you'd feel this way. But let me tell you something: There's no sensible idea behind making guys and girls live together on campus, when they could be living with members of their same sex. Period.
Seriously, get an effing clue or stop writing ridiculous garbage.
