Yesterday, I played my first EDH game. It was a different experience.

I do not have an EDH deck, but a person at my local card shop let me borrow his deck. I enjoyed playing, despite having a 14/14 Trample, Shroud, Double Strike General coming at me and only having targeting removal.

I want to build a fun EDH deck, so do I go with my original idea of Elves or try Memnarch?

Memnarch draws a LOT of attention just by being your general. That's not how I'd recommend starting into the format.

There's several different ways to do elves. The easiest to start into would probably be Rhys the Redeemed, though depending on the cards you've available Nath of the Gilt Leaf is also a great option.

Hope you keep interested! It's a fun format.
